Lennie Waldo passes

I just read on an Ohio tracks Facebook page a re-post of a post by Dom Gregory Jr. that former USAC sprint car driver and 1975 late model track champ Lennie Waldo passed away on February 1st.It didn't mention his age but I would have to guess he was in his 70s.

I just read USAC's website and it noted Lennie was 72.A former winner and Rookie of the Year recipient in the USAC Sprint Car Division he also had 4 race starts in NASCAR during the 1968 season driving for Columbus car owner Elmer Buxton.Lennie was a heavy equipment operator with an aggressive driving style who wasn't afraid to mix it up on the track or in the pits afterwards. He won a lot of late model races in Ohio during the 1970s driving for long time car owner Bob Morgan in his always fast # 82.
