SOUTHERN PRO-AM TRUCK SERIES BANQUET SET FOR SEBRING
The Southern Pro-Am Truck Series will wrap up its 2016 season with an awards banquet on Saturday evening, January 21st. The venue will be the Chateau Elan Hotel located at historic Sebring International Raceway. Chateau Elan Hotel and Conference Center is located on track property and offers trackside viewing, conference meeting space plus golf packages and much more.
The Southern Pro-Am Truck Series will honor their 2016 champion, Cole Partelo of Largo, son of long-time Central Florida racer Rob Partelo. Cole's dad and his uncle Dan Partelo own and operate Dan Partelo Race Cars in Pinellas Park along with their partner Todd Blevins and the 16-year-old North East High School student's racing truck is truly a "homemade" machine. Cole won his first two career races in 2016, both on road courses at Sebring and Homestead-Miami Speedway, on his way to winning the title.
Partelo topped 21-year-old lady racer Taylor Hosford of Madison by 46 points to win the 2016 Series championship and both young racers will be honored during the festivities. Rounding out the top five in 2016 Southern Pro-Am Truck Series points were Randy Leonard of Lake Placid, Chad Chastain of Alva and Venice driver Dean Butram.
Again, the banquet will be held on Saturday evening, January 21, 2017 from 5-8:30 pm. It is a family event and all kids are welcome. Cost is $35 per person and tickets must be purchased by January 10th. Contact Bobby Owens for tickets and other information at (727) 819-3125.
The first race of the 2017 season for the Southern Pro-Am Truck Series is slated for Bronson Speedway on Saturday, February 18th, 2017.
