Rain puts premature end to action at Desoto
    By SCOTT LOCKWOOD
    Desoto Speedway

Despite the best efforts of the track staff and Bomber drivers to keep the track dry and the show going for Saturday Night's Jack Smith/Lee Collins Memorial 89, Mother Nature put an end to Saturday's night's racing action at Desoto Speedway just past the halfway point on the night's scheduled events.
Three of the night's five events went off as scheduled. Immediately after spending close to a half hour drying the track after the evening's second rain delay, the Bombers took to the track for a 25-lap feature event. Aaron Holmes took the lead early and had a sizable advantage over Josh Todd when a caution flew for a spin at the seven lap mark.
Josh Todd lined up on the outside of Holmes on the restart and wrestled the lead away two laps later. Todd appeared to be on his way to a victory when the motor suddenly expired on his car on a restart with two laps to go.
Todd's misfortune allowed Holmes to re-assume the top spot and he was able to hold off a last-lap challenge from Kenny Gibson to take his second win of the year.

The Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Desoto Pro Trucks immediately followed the Bombers with a scheduled 30-lap feature event. Nick Hernandez grabbed the lead at the green flag with Duane Best and Danny Anderson in tow. Michael Goddard quickly sliced his way through the field and ran Hernandez down before the first of several cautions flew early in the race.
Hernandez was fighting a loose truck but was able to fend off several challenges from Goddard for the top spot as the race neared the halfway point. A loud clasp of thunder and lightning rattled Desoto Speedway as the race hit the 17-lap mark, forcing track officials to call the race and declare Hernandez the winner just past the halfway point.
As Hernandez was taking his victory lap around Desoto Speedway, the skies opened up and a heavy thunderstorm washed out the remainder of the night's races, including the Smith/Collins Memorial – which has been rescheduled for next Sunday – and the 25-lap Mini Stock feature.

In other action Saturday night, Darrin Ellis led all 25 laps on his way to the victory in the Pep Boys Speed Shop Modified Mini Stock feature.

Oct 9th Desoto Speedway will host the Randy Fox Memorial 104 for the Sunoco Challenge Super Series Late Models. Street Stocks and Bombers will also be in action. Qualifying will get underway at 3 p.m. with racing to follow at 4.

I'm a little confused here so somebody from Desoto help me out

You have two seemingly contradictory posts simultaneously going on here. The first one talks about the super latemodel program with two support classes for next Sunday. The second post on the results from last nights rain shortened program states the open wheel modified event that was rained out last night will be run next Sunday. Can someone please clarify what actually will be racing next Sunday .

I am just helping Ronnie with a few things, results, website, points from home. though I miss seeing the drivers and all the great people I have met in racing, all the hours I was putting in got to be to much for me. there is a lot of work that goes into running a race that people are not aware of.
