It's so good to see another Florida short track coming back from oblivion. The facebook site for the NEW 4-17 Speedway has some photos and comments posted that show the enormous amount of work to be done, and the work that's already being done. They have a great group of volunteers helping with the cleanup.

When is the Grand Opening???
When is the Grand Opening??? Looking at the Track Wars there are divisions racing on top of each other each weekend all the way through November (one weekend Pro Trucks are racing at 3 Tracks within a 90 minute drive). Making it hard to plan where to go!!! Please look at all the schedules from the other Tracks. Good Luck.

Thats what I kind of thought
At least that was the only thing I could figure unless it was his lucky lottery numbers. When are you and Sean bringing the latemodel back out?Originally posted by Circledude View PostEric, the name comes from the date he got the lease from what I heardsigpic

Amen to that brother
My mom and dad carried me in that place and the old long gone Powell Speedway when I was an infant. Hard to believe 70 years of racing gets bulldozed under come October for a practice soccer field. At least a few old places have gotten revived lately both up there and down here.
Hope to catch you guys at Desoto.sigpic

Talked to Joe today, and he's going full bore. The infield kart track is finished, they're buying and installing grandstands as fast as possible, and they have developed an innovative rules package. Joe and Janet have some very good plans for the track, and they are still planning a November opening.Renegade Racing Fuels of Florida/Palmdale Oil Company
