So, last night up here at the New London Waterford Speedbowl, the TriTrack Modified Series was in action. 45 cars showed up along with 12 Trucks and 31 Legends cars for the other two features for the evening. They ran heats, two consi's and a B main prior to the A main. The stands were about 3/4 full. In my eyes, ticket prices were a little steep, but that's neither here nor there. It was worth the price of admission. It was a the eventual race winner, Steve Masse started off strong quickly running down the leader from a P5 starting spot and eventually gaining the lead. Around lap 50 the first yellow came out and he pitted. After a few timely yellows, he was able to pick his way back through the field and capture the lead for the final time with 10 laps to go.
Prior to the race, I took a risk. We had the original crew of SidsView back together last night for the first time in over a year for a Throwback Thursday type deal for some fun. Sid gave me the green light to do whatever I wanted with a spare camera that he didn't particularly care for. There had always been a shot I wanted to get, but it was very risky, especially with the modifieds. Last night, it proved to be one of the best shots we have ever gotten. Unfortunately, the battery died about 30 minutes into the race, but what it captured, was nothing short of awesome!
