Ah yes,I can just see it now. With the decline of brick and mortar retail stores and the vanishing American speedways, put together with changing technologies in both cars themselves and the fuel sources used to power them, maybe this is a glimpse into the future of racing thirty five years from now.SUNDAY!! SUNDAY!! SUNDAY!! At the store less RRiverfront Mall and Event Center. Be sure to catch this weeks racing action as the Electric Super latemodels do battle for 100 thrilling laps. The driverless Winged Sprints will also be on the race card for 50 action packed laps along with the Natural gas Drift Compacts and the V6 Hydrogen Bombers. And if you can't make it in person be sure to catch all the action on Speed 2051 your racing source. Yep warm up some popcorn ma it looks like my Sundays planned.
WE'VE MOVED!!!

"Hydrogen Bombers', nice!
Whatever comes our way in the future will be fine as long as we can strap in a get after it. My worry is that all racing becomes remote controlled, or even worse, a simulation.

The deal is, slot car racing and rc racing are also on the decline.
Today's public doesn't want electric racing, or even electric cars. I seriously doubt they want virtual racing. Too much time away from their apps.
Thankfully, the pits or even the stands at our local tracks is like a time warp back to the 60's.
It may all be going away, but I do not think it will actually go before I do...
I think Clint said it best "We are in a generation of wussies... Just f'ing get over it.".
I don't believe think they will.Last edited by OldSchool+; 08-24-2016, 12:16 PM.

Sorry Boneman,I know that driver less sprint part may have stung a little. But good news!! There still has to be someone to build it work on it and get it to the track.Oh wait, it will probably drive itself to the track.I know I won't be around to see it thirty five years from now but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be prepared for what I would see or where I might see it.sigpic
