Former NASCAR Cup driver and 1969 Nashville Fairgrounds late model champion David Sisco passed away on July 25, 2016, at the age of 79. He was U. S. Army Veteran. Sisco ran 133 NASCAR Winston Cup races from 1971 to 1977 with 6 top-fives and 31 top-ten finishes. His best finish was third two times, both in the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. The first was in 1974, won by Cale Yarborough with second place going to Darrell Waltrip. Sisco finished third again in 1975 to winner Bobby Allison with Richard Petty second. His family has asked that those desiring to make memorial contributions to do so to either the Alzheimer's Association, St. Judes or Caris Hospice of Dickson, TN.
