NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Ray Black Jr. to compete in Charity 200 Race Weekend!

Orlando FL. - For the second time Ray Black Jr. will attend and compete in the Joey Coulter Charity 200 Race Weekend. Last year he recovered from early handling issues to drive back through the field to a second place finish to event host Joey Coulter who won the event for the second time.

"We want to go back and get that other spot, and win this year," stated Black. "We had a great time and really enjoyed what the whole weekend was all about, helping these families that are dealing with serious and terminal illnesses. At the end of the day we are racers, we want to win, but to be able to maybe help these families win makes it all worth it."

In 2015, Ray Black Jr. competed full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driving the No. 07 ScubaLife.com Chevrolet Silverado. During his rookie campaign he secured one Top-5 and 12 Top-15 finishes, completing 95.8% of all laps ran in the series. Black earned a Top-15 efficiency ranking of 31.4%, which ranked him first in the series for the 2015 season. He also ranked in the Top-10 of drivers for pass efficiency and topped off the year by securing 11th place in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings. 2016 marks Black's rookie year competing in the NASCAR XFINITY Series driving the No. 07 ScubaLife.com Chevrolet Camaro for SS Green Light Racing.

Last year Black wheeled a truck supplied by veteran J.R. Garcia, we will announce more information on what they will be doing tis year as the info becomes available.

The event is held at the Auburndale Speedway and the proceeds of the event helps Children and families facing very serious and terminal illnesses. The foundation is about to hold it's 11th Charity race weekend, This years event December 9-11th. The foundation also does several events to raise funds such as a bowling event, Golf tourney and more.

" We are excited to have Ray come back to race with us. He is a great guy, driver and a Florida guy so we appreciate him coming and supporting this event again. I think he gathered a great feeling, after taking part last year, as to what we are doing and we see it a lot once people catch it, they just keep coming and supporting what this is all about" stated event organizer Rick Bristol. "One of Ray's crew guys, Francois Pelletier took park in the very first Joey Coulter Charity 200 Race Weekend nearly 11 years ago and he has not forgot the feeling everyone had helping others during a very serious and trying time for the children and families.

"It is a great event, we had a blast being involved in that first one, then coming to a couple, then returning last year with Ray and competing, it is really a great weekend for everyone" stated Pelletier.

"I want to thank Ray for competing last year and returning this year to support the event again, as each year passes I get more and more taken back by what it all about, and now after having my first child I see even more importance for being involved and for us to keep doing and helping all we can. Its amazes me each year all that Rick, his family, the board members and volunteers are able to pull off. I am proud to be a part and look forward to this years event". adds Joey Coulter.

That's great news. Now if only some of the other guys that are from the state of Florida and have ascended to the NASCAR ranks would get involved that would be even better. It is truly a great event supporting a good cause and given the fact that it is held after the NASCAR season is over and during December when the local racing scene is pretty quiet for a couple of months the fan's need to find out about it and support it.Rick are the plans to stick with the original 200 lap event again this year?
