This is pretty sad when Mr. Ray spends all kinds of money to help Citrus County Speedway and do nothing but to improve it all ,the trucks in this state are trying to boycot the race on August 13 grow up guys you guys are something else's, I happen to work with spats group and to see this bs you have no right to try to ruin something that can help evey track and truck racer in the state.

You all know who you are and you have very little class how do you expect to get together on anything ,If I were the trucks come out and support this race for spats pro truck group and you will not be disappointed in the series ,we all are working hard to make it the best in the state with all of your help. Thanks again John Sarppraicone I will see you all at citrus.Just stop by and I will let everyone know what's really going on.

How can anyone be upset with a track that hasn't opened yet?

Is it because they simply have rules and a purse and are not "going through" a sanctioning body?

If so, I would suggest that might be problematic for a racer down the road.

          Where is f-ups?

I know where Citrus County, Showtime, and Auburndale are...

I would be curious as to what the problem is. Payout ? I don't think that's a bad payout for 30 laps depending on how it pays through the field.

I can't imagine any racer ( or fan ) wanting to skip going to the new Citrus County Speedway. All you need to do is take a look at the photos they've posted on their web site. This is the nicest short track in Florida, and they have even more planned for the future.
I hope infighting and pressure from the folks with an agenda don't cause truck racers to stay away from Citrus. I don't see any possible way for that strategy to pay off in the long run. And that goes for all racers, at all tracks.
Sometimes there's far too much emphasis on personalities, or grievances, and not enough on growing the sport. Or avoiding the death of the sport altogether.

Aight, looks like the "Southern Pro Am Truck Series" is sanctioning the Inverness event 8/13/16.

What is (some of) the truckers presumed beef with them...?

Regardless, the first post of this thread indicates Citrus County is paying the purse.

Want to make a statement? Win the event.

                      pro truck race

Is this a Florida pro truck race or Spats? the headline to me is misleading. Its like Obama fighting :anim_pound Islamic terror and not naming who it really is. Your real name is the real reason nobody races your series. Check is always in the mail but never comes or you are begged by The owner for the money back in trade for free entry fees for a road coarse I will never race. Then you put another truck race right smack dab in the very middle of other races. Which I do not want or can to afford to race every week. Than lets get on what trucks you bring. last 3 races 7 trucks. and on top of that its been a wreck fest for a couple of the hot heads that race with you. Not saying Florida pro truck is any better but they put on a hell of a lot better show. So no driving 3 -1/2 hours for 30 laps for the possibility you may put a stamp on a envelope and send me my pay is not worth it to me. Good luck with your endeavours but my suggestion is to keep building your road coarse trucks if you don't want to pay anyone because road coarse guys are used to getting trophy's anyways. This seems to be the norm these days participation trophys.

                        Obama...participation trophies...scary stuff.

However, the track website indicates that there is a 30 lap truck race 8/13.

Easy enough to contact the Speedway before that and find out if the purse will be paid by the track at the payout window.

Their site sez points money is "guaranteed money". Presumably they will pay the weekly racers as well.

Hopefully someone will clarify this detail soon...

Looks like the ad says says this is a SPATS race. Don't confuse the Ray family and Citrus County Speedway with other tracks, business models, promoters, and "series " in Florida. As the ad says, the Ray family/Citrus County Speedway are paying the purse. That's all that needs to be said about that.
And to make the tow worthwhile, Renegade Racing Fuels will pay $100.00 to the truck fast qualifier. If qualifying can't take place for whatever reason, Renegade Racing Fuels will still pay $100.00 to whichever truck is on the pole for the start of the race. Not only that, but i see there's no entry fee either. Sounds like a winning proposition for all trucks that show up.
Anybody that wants to help truck racing grow, here's your chance. The track is going to grow very nicely, ALL the truck racers are welcome to get in on it.

                            truck race

We will be there on 8/27 when the original truck race was scheduled. That is a 50 lap race and everyone already planned for that. This one was thrown in just because and it makes it hard to make all these races. Thats awesome Renegade fuels to offer the fast time award. Be there for the 27th Renegade fuels and offer the same thing. The Florida Pro Trucks im sure would welcome the support and the racers as well.
