No details yet but heard that long-time Tampa-area Sprint Car owner Charles Ledford has passed away... Ledford gave a young driver an opportunity in the early-1980s and Jimmy Haynes made the most of it by becoming one of the top Sprint Car pilots in the U. S. until his death at Phoenix International Raceway in February 1985... After Haynes passed, Charlie retired Jim's #20 and began running his iconic 1L cars along with a few other numbers and his cars were driven by the likes of Wayne Reutimann, Dave Scarborough, Bobby Alexander, Sport Allen, Greg Staab, Jim Childers, Randy Alvarez, Jimmy Alvis and more. Ledford and Scarborough combined to win the 1986 Little 500 at the Anderson, IN Speedway in the most dominating performance ever for that race as Scarborough won it by 21 laps!
