Lakeland, FL (May 16, 2016) No sooner did pre-registration begin for the Racecar Engineering Wheel Man Sportsman race on the 28th of this month when two additional sponsors got on-board with more prizes for drivers and teams. Two more racing tires will be given away during the drivers meeting prior to the race thanks to Progressive Racing Engines and the new owners of Citrus County Speedway and Track, William and Camron Ray, bringing the total to a complete set of 4 Hoosier Racing tires.
While there is absolutely no entry fee for the race, drivers and teams that pre-register are all eligible for the free Hoosier Racing Tire giveaway. To pre-register, call Jason or Craig at Racecar Engineering during business hours of 9am to 6pm at 800-882-7231.
Steve McInnis and Brian Hintz, owners of Progressive Racing Engines, have been in business and in the same location for the past 22 years. Steve and Brian are dedicated to the racers and the racing industry, and in 2011 received the COMP Cams/RHS Engine Builder of the Year award. Citrus County Speedway and Track is a 3/8th’s asphalt facility located in Inverness, FL and is under the new ownership of William and Carlin Ray. The track has been undergoing extensive improvements since the beginning of the year and is planning to reopen on July 16th. Some of the improvements include new bleachers (with new incorporated handicapped seating), repaving the track, new pit side concessions, Victory Lane Café built on the grand stand side, upgraded speakers and sound systems and updated restrooms.
