Old Charlotte County Speedway

Well I have been hoping to hear some or any good news about the speedway, but haven't heard or read anything since the airport kicked out that family from up north. I'm in south Ft. Myers and Charlotte County was the closest track for me and sure miss it a lot, didn't ever miss many races and sure miss having the track open and running. Was just hoping someone had some good news about the track. Thanks Rick

Sure miss the track. Was in the area visiting relatives about two weeks ago and decided to drive by the speedway. There it sits, weeds growing around the track, looks like the fencing is still in place. Was able to drive right up to the ticket window. parked car and walked to top of the hill where the old black #3 helmet once sat proudly. Didn't notice any lights. Just a vacant race track, pretty sad. Wish someone would say if there are any intentions of ever racing there again. Sorry I don't have more info.....See ya at the races somewhere !!!

I actually drove by there yesterday when I was taking a family member to the airport. It's just a shame that this has happened and with all the new buildings going up around there it's not looking good for the old gem. I think the racers will come back, now that the construction industry is strong again.
