Sure, there is reason for optimism. The track looked great: neat, clean and all the billboards were sold and updated. Didn't the signs in turn 2 get bigger? It all looked very professional. Whoever is selling those is getting it done, now put that person on building car count.
All of us keyboard racing experts think that if a track attracts sponsors, then that money goes toward drawing cars. Well, I hope someone makes that happen.
There were some teams there last night who were prepared to race. Their cars looked good and ran fast, but there was a bunch of others that were not running, not cleaned up, or even spray bombed. Why not? Where is the sense of pride and professionalism?
Even these cars were better than the ones that didn't show up at all.
I hope the staff meeting on Monday morning is grim, and full of determination, to get the pits to fill up again.
