ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD RETURNS TO RACING WITH S.P.A.T.S. TRUCKS AND MORE THIS SUNDAY

The Southern Pro-Am Truck Series is kicking off their 2016 racing season at Orlando SpeedWorld this Sunday. The Florida Vintage Modifieds and Stocks have partnered with the Southern Pro Am Truck Series and will show and race their nostalgic race cars prior to the Pro Truck’s 50 lap feature race. Also on tap will be racing for the Strictly Stock/Bombers. Dick Owens Services will be sponsoring the Strictly Stock/Bomber Division Sunday afternoon.
Renegade Racing Fuel, the Series’ associate sponsor, will also be in attendance to help support the Series’ drivers and explain the benefits of their Pro 110 racing fuel. The Pro 110 racing fuel will be available for purchase at the track. Hoosier racing tires will also be available at the track.
Quite a few Truck teams are burning the midnight oil to be ready for this season-opening event. Possible Entries include Steven King, J. R. Garcia, Becca Monopoli, Randy Leonard, Eddie Lichtenberger, Taylor Moxley, Derek Pugh, Cole Partelo, Steve Jones, Cody Martell, A. J. Moyer, Taylor Hosford and quite a few more including a few surprises. The 50-lap Pro Truck race will pay $1,000 to win plus incentives for fastest qualifier and most improved performance. The feature race winner will receive a unique trophy courtesy of Jostens (Picture included here)
The Florida Vintage Modified/Stock Car group always bring a nice field of sharp-looking machines while a nice field of Strictly Stock/Bombers are expected thanks to the purse being offered by Dick Owens Services. The Strictly Stock/Bomber winner will get $75 to win, $50 for second and $25 for third place but there could be a few surprises here too.
An open practice for all divisions will take place Saturday evening from 6 pm until 10 pm. Pit passes are $15 per person or you can pay $30 for both Saturday and Sunday, a savings of $10.
Sunday morning, pit gates open at 9 am with practice slated from 9:30 am until 11:30 am. Grandstand gates open at 11 am with Pro Truck qualifying at noon. Racing starts at 1 pm. The Strictly Stocks/Bombers will race first followed by the Vintage Modifieds/Stocks and the day will culminate with the 50-lap headliner for the Pro Trucks.
Pit passes on Sunday are $25 per person with grandstand tickets priced at $15.
Come out and support this great event and help get Orlando SpeedWorld back on track for 2016. Also remember that daylight savings time begins on Sunday so set your clocks ahead one hour and don't be late for all the racing and fun Sunday at Orlando SpeedWorld

Due to a last minute problem, Renegade Racing Fuel WILL NOT be available at the track for this race. It will be available at the track for all future SPATS races.
For this weekend, Renegade Pro 110 race fuel is available at the pump very near OSW. The Mobil gas station just down the road from OSW has Renegade Pro 110. And the pump is separate from the islands allowing easy access for tow rigs and trailers.

There is a post saying this already but Sunday at OSW has been cancelled due to the NWS forecast of an 60% chance of rain.

First, I would like to thank SPATS for including Bombers in the program. OSW has been TULO for a couple of years and SPATS in their wisdom has decided to rent the track and put on a good show.

Including the lowest class of race cars is important to keep racing going.

I implore all Bomber teams to make the future races at OSW...INCLUDING the teams who usually race at NSS.

I will be coming up to NSS to race Big Red as much as I can this season. Higher car counts just add to the show and enjoyment of racing.

The "home boys" of OSW hope to see the NSS bombers here when we race. We also look forward to joining y'all at NSS.

Doesn't seem to matter who tries to run shows at Orlando, they always bail out waaaaaaay too early.
What would it hurt to TRY putting on the show as scheduled?

As of Saturday night, there's been NO rain in the area, and chance of rain has decreased over the last couple days.

But no racing, as usual, because nobody even TRIED.

          big rains---

Big rains are coming in----not. And for anyone else on the east coast area, the TICO Airshow in Titusville is running tomorrow. A big schedule is on hand, and for all that those whomever want to get out and enjoy the sunshine, Titusville TICO Airshow might be one of those places. Gates open at Noon, show at 1pm till 5pm. Old WWI, WWII, Korean and Vietnam era, plus modern day machines are going to be flying the sky. It's only 15 min. east of OSW.

Not a drop all day. Terrible call...

Why even bother to schedule with no intention of trying?
