I have been wondering that my self, and I have heard a few rumors about Dave.

1 This season, he is replacing Blake Shelton on "the Voice".
2 He got a cool gig spinning the big arrow sign for Mattress Barn.
3 Dave is a back-up dancer for Bruno Mars, and they have been touring for months.
4 He got his old coffin polishing job back.
5 Too busy dealing with announcing offers from Orlando, Punta Gorda and Citrus.
6 Getting fitted for the shark costume.
7 Gonna breath new life into the "Bush for President" campaign.
8 He won't leave his job as a lifeguard at the Hooter's resort for anything.
9 Check out Univision, he reads the 6 o'clock news in Spanish.
10 Prefers announcing midget wrestling matches and auctioning cattle.

9 He kept stealing the soap and hand towels from the mens room in the pits... j/k of course...
RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

Dave not being in the booth at NSS is a SHAME....

There has NEVER been an announcer ANYWHERE that knows more about racing, racers (as related to Florida) than Dave....he arrives early (sometimes a day or so early) to walk the pits...talks to teams, owners and drivers...he takes notes while learning the background info so he is well informed for his announcing "Show"....

The last Gov Cup wasn't the same without Dave on the mike...really missed his knowledge of drivers (ie. like the correct pronouncement of names etc.) On a side note...they didn't even have the previous Gov Cup winners present them selves on the front straight (I personally know Jim Fenton and Leroy Porter where there...in years past they were called forward --- makes you wonder how they felt that day. It sure wasn't a great 50th celebration by any means

Dave would've / could've made a HUGE difference from the booth that day...
NSS missed the boat for the biggest race of the year (actually of the past 50 Gov Cups).

I may have seen my last Gov Cup... OSF

I've spoken to Dave several times this year, and I'm proud to say that Dave has agreed to advise me on a book project that I am working on currently (Thanks, Dave!). Here he is at New Smyrna recently with Eddie Roche and myself (I'm the photographer), looking over Eddie's recent book, Florida Motorsports Retrospective Pictorial, Volume 1:

Dave, Florida has been without a racing radio show for years. You would be excellent at filling that role. We need a show to help the sport, and to have some fun.

Btw: I got the coffin polishing joke from you. Remember when you said that about Bruce Everett? It was at least 20 years ago!

Give some thought to a show!

The only way to do a show on radio today is to purchase the time... If you want a good time slot, it costs plenty! I am not in a position financially to do that... Sponsors would be needed... Sounds easy but, it's not... trust me...

You could do a video show and post it on You tube. Maybe team up with KARNAC for something unique. Everyone could watch it in their free time and even see it at a later date.

                          You're welcome

It can be very profitable but you need many followers to generate advertising revenue. I'm not a good source for information concerning YouTube other than some lowbuck porn. LOL !
