A Manatee County man died in a Seffner-area crash early Sunday, the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office says.
Robert H. Alexander, Jr., 44, of Parrish, was driving his 2016 BMW northbound on County Road 579 near Sligh Avenue when he turned left into the path of a 2008 Chevrolet van at about 2:23 a.m., police say.
Alexander was not wearing a seat belt and was unresponsive at the scene and subsequently transported to Brandon Hospital where he later died, police say.
Police say that the van was driven by Jorge Rios-Luis, 18, of Seffner. None of the three occupants of the van were reported to have suffered injuries.
An investigation in the accident is ongoing, police say.
