A great racer from "Back n the Day" has gone to race in heaven....

Lester Sloan passed away Sunday evening after a long illness. He will be missed by all that knew him.... His home track was Sunshine Speedway, but he raced at many Florida tracks....if you knew him, please post something on Face Book to his family, I'm sure they'd love to hear from you with a statement or two about your memories of him.

Lester Sloan

Man, that sucks to hear. I grew up with his sister Rosie and remember hanging out over at their house every day after school. We would play in the ditch behind their house while Lester was working on his race car, I believe it was a 55-57 Chevy at the time. This was early, maybe mid 70's, I was maybe 10 or 12 at the time. Haven't seen them years, but I can remember it like it was yesterday. Rest in peace buddy, Bill Bryant
