  • Sunoco Triple 50's and Bombers at A-Dale Sunday excited to announce !

Looking forward to being back behind a Mic announcing this weekend. I will be working with John Berti, calling the racing for the stockcar nights this year. It gives me a chance to be involved still, promote the Joey Coulter Charity race all season and just have fun without the stress ha ha. Had a lot of fun in 18 years of announcing, TV and radio, looking forward to doing it again ! Hope to see you all at the Bullring Sunday !

Rick,do everyone a huge favor.Be knowledgeable, announce the hometown of the driver and car owners name, basically inform the fans. What is going to create AND drive interest is when people hear that somebody is from their own hometown or maybe where they grew up at.Dont be shy about maybe trying to build up some rivalrys to get peoples interest level up,all in the name of keeping them informed while promoting not only A-dales racing but Florida racing.

I always went through the pits and talked to all the drivers, got their sponsors and info like hometown, achievements etc. When I did Orlando & New Smyrna with Dave Westerman 88-92, then Sunshine Speedway and Florida Pro Series from 93-99 I had books of info, stats etc. to use. I have been out of announcing for some years except for a couple fill in deals, but I will get caught up on some of the new guys and do my best to inform, I will have and create a few nicknames etc. But the building rivalry good guy bad guy etc I may avoid, but I will do my best. Thanks

I had car make vs car make or hometown vs hometown or county in mind rick
Good guy vs bad guy is too easily contribed and leads to a lot of torn up racecars.but Ithink you understand what iI mean about informing and building interest especially with a new season looming.hope to see you there

            Rick,

Am glad you get to be back in the booth! After 18 years, it will be just like riding a bike, I will wager.

Dat said, imo (which was not asked for...), if you are looking for any direction (and assuming you are...), it can all be boiled down to the following:

            WWND "What Would Ned Do?"

Have fun with it sir, I may be there to hear you.

Probably 50/50 shot as of this moment.
