  • Greg Staab Critally Hurt In Fire

Sprint Car racing fans may remember Greg Staab who ran for many years in USAC and on other circuits, mostly driving the Stenger's Ford #44... Unfortunately Greg lost everything in a devastating house fire on New Year's day morning... Greg is currently in the hospital in critical condition... His girlfriend, Penny Stewart, died in the inferno... Greg has also been recovering from a bout with cancer as well... As you can imagine he'll need many prayers, and financial support as he fights through this tragedy... The following are some avenues with which you may help with those needs, if you see fit... This fund will also cover funeral expenses for Penny Stewart...

The GoFundMe account can only accept CC and debit payments; checks made out to Gregory Staab can also be sent or dropped off at these additional local sites:

    Hoosier Tire Midwest
    4155 N CR 1000 Suite A
    Brownsburg, IN 46112

    Indy Race Parts
    361 Gasoline Alley Suite A
    Indianapolis IN 46222

I personally met Greg several times when he raced down here during Speedweeks... A great guy and a great supporter of the racing community... Get well soon Greg!

I remember Greg not only for the Speedweeks shows down here, but also recall a January show at the Fla Fairgrounds Speedway when a few 'invaders' showed up to race.
Staab ran the Ledford 1L, Jac Haudenschild was in Bill Roynons 9, and Robbie Stanley came down with the Winterbotham 6. Jeff Gordon also ran this car early in his career.
Fond memories of Greg as a TRUE racer, that would come all the way here, in a one-off ride... just to be part of it.
Hope everything works the best it can, out of a horrible situation, for a true RACER.

Another one added to the Prayer list.

It shouldn't have to be like that...but the only strength is in God and his ultimate plan is triumph.
