I was there Friday night and crowd wasn't too bad. Saturday was competing w the big track so they lost a few. Sunday, I honestly couldnt care less about k and n..
Now tonight w the tour mods, I will be there again. Gate prices are kinda steep this yr too.

I hope that the ability to watch racing live via web sites and apps is not going to kill attendance at the track.Yes the track will get some royalty money but will it off set the loss of ticket and concession sales? I noticed on a film clip of a car flipping that the stands were almost empty. In the south many tracks are living off of the pit passes and infield attendance.

30 and 35 dollars is steep for grandstand, I have said for years for speedweeks make it affordable for a family to get inside, you will more than make it up on concessions, there is not a large population of people close by so people have to travel also to get to the speedway. A family could only go probably one night.

I doubt anyone considering attending the races would stay home and watch on the Web for free, totally different experiences.
If the stands are empty it's because of the steep ticket prices and the cold weather. This week will be a lot warmer so let's see what happens.
Selling tickets for $15-20 a night and even offering a pass for the whole week for $60-$80 or something would really bring the fans out

great place-great racing
I went Monday night for the first time in 4 years. I was shocked to pay 40 bucks to get in the pits! I started doing the math, I always like to do the math, lol,, and figured out quickly how profitable speed weeks is. It is a good thing for NSS, all tracks need to make a profit, but this is a home run. While most tracks in Florida are struggling to keep there heads above water, NSS is having a very good week at the back gate alone, Maybe next year I will pick a night to go when it does not rain. Congrats NSS!

Congratulations to the Dick Anderson team and driver Josh Todd for a great Speedweeks performance so far, including a feature win Saturday night. And thanks to Kevyn Terry and all the other teams using Renegade Racing Fuels at this years World Series of Asphalt Racing at New Smyrna Speedway.Renegade Racing Fuels of Florida/Palmdale Oil Company

Vince, while you are correct, NSS is bringing in a lot of revenue during speedweeks, you fail to realize that this revenue is what helps keep NSS open throughout the entire year. Those summer nights in July and August when they have 30 or 40 cars show up and a couple of hundred fans because of the heat and / or threat of storms, I am sure they lose considerable monies.
I agree that $40 a night for a pit pass is a bit much and it has actually quelled me from attending all the nights that I would have liked to.

Agree
Fred23, I agree with you 100%, they do a great job on World Series, and Gov. Cup weekend. And those two events alone may sustain the track for the entire year, which in my book is a very smart business plan. Hats off to a track making money.
