So, let me get this straight. The "Old Phil" used to come on here and tell us how all the tracks around here didn't know what they were doing, and didn't like us disagreeing with him, so he started his own forum. Fast forward to now, the "New Phil" is telling us how we shouldn't be bashing tracks. Did I just wake up in an episode of the "Twilight Zone"? Sorry, I know that is from the 1970's too.

Actually if you look back, I have always held this stance regarding social media. Even went over it many times before, however I have not always followed it through personally. I have no problem admitting when I am wrong, and I was wrong. Shoot me. At least I have the sack to admit it. Some don't.

Side note, please check your PM's shortly. Need to discuss some Road Course stuff with you if you wouldn't mind.

      Thanks

        Jacko--Now you've done it...

ps--For the record (like it matters), Phil did bash the social media bashers previously.

And racers. And fans. And track operators. And Karnac.

It all centers around one self-decieving sucker word--"should". Nobody wants to do jack, other than what they wannna do. To tell them--anyone--what they "should" do is an effort in self-frustration. Try it on your girlfriend/wife/whatever. It really works well--if you want to be single again!

        >>Being "right" is totally beside the point, BTW<<

Instead, the question is "what should I do?" (and it involves personal behavior, period).

But I think he has a big heart, and he is proud of his sack full of goodies (ho ho ho).

Did anyone know that Josh Todd raced a winged sprint at the last Showtime race. I believe it was his first time out and he kicked butt IMO. He was given the oppurtunity by one of the best men this sport has Mr. Tony C. and had another fine man in the pitts with him the one and only (battman). He qualified 5th and ran a clean race. his car looked to be getting loose going in towards the end but he kept it under him and stayed out of trouble.

Josh did a great job Doug, special thanks goes out to Lee Cipray the owner and crew chief. Lees on of the best when it comes to setting up a car. We only had to adjust the car a little. I picked the car up Friday and took it to the track for Lee, he, I and the other helper Trent Boss enjoy helping Lee with whatever he needs, I talk or see both of them just about every day, we all live down the street from each other. I've been offered to drive that car or Trent's sprint car but I'd be fired from my ride ( my mom doesn't like them, lol. The sprint drivers my dad had drive for him got hurt, the most recent was Larry Tyler in the famous red 99) but I get plenty of enjoyment helping Lee. I'll just stick with the mods. Once again Josh did exactly what was expected of him, run in the top 5, car doesn't have a scratch on it. Maybe you'll see him in it again soon. Doug toward the end of the race the rf caliper was starting to seize, causing it to be eratic, he did a great job of driving it home in that condition, he said he had to ease up just a bit at the end.-

The Drama, The Camraderie, The Danger!

As Doug said, that is positive stuff and (I believe) motivates folks to go to the races.

                    Doug,

Thought you were straightening out a few things after the Eddie B race.

                    More misfortune?

                      Old school

In the B main of the EBR race I broke a spring mount off the chassis. Raced the A with it that way. Fixed it raced again and won by luck. Found more issues........fixed them. worked real hard for two weeks every night after work. Last race the car was real fast.......until i decided to try and knock down pit exit.........Pit exit won.

Flat RF? Stuck Throttle? Help? All of the above?

Here is my trouble-making comment of the morning:

Gee, Doug, this gives you an opportunity to get one of them new-fangled front clips, which one are you goin' with?

Seriously, hope you are fine and the car is not too difficult/expensive to repair.
