Bang for your BUCK was Showtime this weekend. With 9 classes Features Only and 101 Racers in the PACKED PITS!!!!
Prefect weather good Fan count and HARD, HARD RACING in every class.
The BIG RACE was the 3rd Annual Salute to Denny Neighbor Sr.-
Outlaw Wing Sprints 40 laps. I prefer to call them boys "The Winged Devils of the Asphalt". After Time Trails saw #88 Sport Allen blister the black top, #33 "The MAN of Steel" David Steel second, #5 Mickey Kempgens third, #15 Shane Butler forth, and #99 Matthew Hall. The invert of seven got everyone's attention. In our sport at the start of any race two things make race tempo. First passing is a skill along with the luck of being in the right place at the right time. When rag dropped the first four got off slow and saw everyone looking for a hole to get through. The #33 Steel got another one of his Marque MONSTER starts and saw him the clear the field and stopped any threat from Sport (who was stuck in the middle of the parking lot) being held up with slower cars, but after four laps he was running second with Steel out front by 1/2 a lap. These Drivers are some of the BEST on the Planet. The closing rate when lapping is heart stopping. #33 David cutting through the back markers like the true Racer he is saw Sport making the same moves to keep Steel in sight. Still fighting their way through the slower cars and the lap cars adding to the pressure saw #5 Mickey, #15 Shane, battling with #99 Matt. With lapped cars and side by side racing each other made for one of the most skilled driving acts that I have ever seen. #88 Sport came up to lap two racers who were racing hard against each other going into turn one and did the most unreal 360 spin trying not to run over the lapped cars. Mickey looked like the movie DAYS of Thunder when the smoke cleared there was no yellow and the PCS #5 was in second. Watching Sport try to catch his breath back while his tire tires totally burned out was just heart breaking. Then after a few more laps The Man of Steel had everything going his way. The old saying it ain't over till it's over became true again. A left rear flat saw him pull into the infield. Even on a 1/4 Bull Ring you still can not watch everything. The #5 Mickey gets the lead with #15 Shane hot on his heals. Each drove high and then low passing lapped cars in every corner. The gap never got closer than the 2 to 5 car lengths. Mickey brought the #5 PCS Hot Rod home in 1st, #15 in Shane second, Mathew holding off the #88 of Sport Allen for 3rd. What if's is a big part of our Sport.
Finish order from 5th back:
5 #7 Josh Todd
6 #39 John Rosploch
7 #84 Rick Hall
8 #4 Travis Bliemeister
9 #56 Blake Rose
10 #63 Carlie Yent
11 #14 Richie Corr
12 #75 Russell Jones
13 #33 Dave Steele
14 #14JR Justin Appleby
15 #2 Clayton Donaldson
16 #66 Terry Taylor
(just two cars short of the $10,000.00 to come from the rear BONUS)
All the classes saw great racing and proved again the rubbing is RACING!!!! Hope to see everyone at the Joey Coulter Charity 200 Pro Truck race net weekend at Auburndale.
Be kind to one other and please keep the Family's of the killed and wounded in your Prays from the Terrorist Attack from last week.
