  • Cost of Racing? Transition from Karts?

Hey guys. Looking for some advice and info here on the best way to transition from karts. Seeing the Auburndale and Desoto alliance makes me feel good about getting into the scene. I'm not trying to race mini stocks or bombers but something bigger (mod, pro late, pro truck, etc). I'm looking for a series with a good community that's cost effective but will still get me good experience.

U will dictate how much it will cost u.

What u do yourself on the car dictate a lot, more u do, less u spend.

How u drive dictate a lot. Do u drive with your right foot or with your head?

How far u travel to go racing from home will dictate a lot.

How much practices u do will dictate a lot.

Dirt vs asphalt, running on slicks or dot style tires, pump gas or racing fuel, weekly racing or series racing.

All those things make a lot of difference on how much it costs, from 4 banger to all out Super Late Model.

The level you are contemplating will be a quantum leap over karts. If you are content to simply get seat time at the outset it will be cheaper. As soon as you choose to be competitive speed wise the cost will go up substantially. As previously stated the more you can do your self will save a ton of money. Remember the people up front are usually running on new tires and a reasonably fresh motor. If you were doing well in karts then I would suggest you begin running on the same type of surface. If you don't care between dirt and pavement then by all means race as close to home as you can. Remember the only way to get a small fortune in auto racing is to begin with a big one. That being said good luck and if it ain't fun get out as quick as possible.

        How old is the Driver??

How old is the Driver? In 2004 when Mark Martin NASCAR Driver wanted Matt his son to step up to full size racers he looked to the FASTRUCK Series to get safe big car seat time. The FAST Kids ages from 12 to 16 years old, or Pro's. Call me at 813-817-7223 and we can talk about your wants and needs.

I racer have you actually raced something? I notice your user name I take it your are on I-racing on the computer . a lot of guy on there think if they can win on the computer they are ready for the real track not even close to the same thing . to be honest all those classes that you are interested in cost lots of money if you are starting out from scratch. you would be better to start off in the bomber class even that's not cheap . a completive car will cost you a lot bottom line .

The difference is enormous. Especially going from Cart to mod or LM. You will need everything including spare parts to repair while "learning" to drive.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.
