It makes me wonder what they are cheating at on the cup cars too.

Usually I shake my finger at cheating but in this instance I actually feel bad for them. They have been through tear down after teardown, and after being within the rules laid down NASCRAP went and handicapped them. One thing I hate is seeing someone punished for being good and doing their homework.

You know if they had a THROTTLE stop under the pedal instead of a MAGNET maybe NASCAR would have, what a minute, NASCAR never thinks that anyone is smarter than them.
        Example is this:
CAR in WIND TUNNEL for NASCAR TEST the THROTTLE does not go to the floor so they do not know how much HORSEPOWER the car is making. REMOVE the throttle stop, MAGNET and test again DAH!!
I have a THROTTLE Stop on the modified so I do not STRESS the linkage and have it jam. Don't tell NASCAR please!!!

IF they have 20-30+ Hp more then everyone else, Nascar isnt exactly handicapping them by taking away 16 Hp with the new throttle plates.

Sorry, I like Joe Gibbs, I have a lot of respect for him and what he has accomplished but no sympathies here.

I agree but they were within existing rules. If I can make 30 more horsepower than the other ministocks and be within the same rules they are is it fair for them to cut my power back because I am the only one doing my homework?

Remember that this is a mid season rule change, something NappyCAR said they would not do.

I do like Joe Gibbs and have always like him since the Redskins. I don't think they are doing anymore homework then any other top team they just have better stuff. NASCAR was very easy on toyota when they laid out the engine rules for them. NASCAR needs to rethink the engine rules and make it equal for everyone.

just about exactly what Roush said.

i don't believe i've ever seen anybody penalized for a modification that made their engine have less power before.

They WERE put in after the race. They were trying to mis-led Nascar officials about the horsepower output their cars have. NOWHERE does it say JGR was cheating DURING the race, only that they mis-led the officials AFTER the race.

And neither Joe Gibbs, nor the drivers, knew anything about it.

Captain Smith was sleeping in his stateroom too when his indestructible ship hit the iceberg and sank but it didn't matter, the "captain" takes the hit. That's just the way it is.

Kudos to J.D. Gibbs (the captain in this case) for manning up.

Too bad we have to wait until 09' to hear Smoke's true comments on the sit-chee-ation.
