I have been watching on here to see if there has been anyone interested in opening the track back up, wife and I really miss the race track, Desoto is like a hour and forty five minute ride for us. I can see how hard it would be to open the track with rent, insurance, paying for the fence and all the hidden costs. It seems like the airport and everyone else don't think Williams did anything wrong, but I think he stripped the track when he left and now because of him I have no race track to go to. If anyone hears anything about the track please post it on here, got my fingers crossed hoping someone will try to open it again -

It seems maybe you are one of the people that thinks Williams payed for what he took...NOT not even close. The fence, the lights, the speakers and wiring and all the other little stuff he took , he didn't pay for and I'm not sure, but I think the stands was there and was replaced after the storm before he ever got there. Not sure of what happened at Desoto but Williams took off again. Look the fans had a place to watch racing for many years, Williams took over and now we have nothing

Not for sure what Williams took. However, I do know that Leroy came up to Sunshine Speedway and got things when Sunshine closed to replace after his track got it from Charlie in 2004.Comment

Leroy bought bleachers from st pete , when he sold his ownership he. sold bleachers and all his equipment. next owner did same. every one owned something. Leroy did build the track . we helped clean up track after Charlie, had boat storage for insurance co.Comment
