  • Where is the love for Citrus County?

Holy guacamole did Citrus County have action galore Saturday night. I thought for sure people would be raving about it by now.

The Street Stock feature had a three-wide, wreckers or checkers finish that was a sight to behold. Hands-down best finish I've seen anywhere this year. AND the Pure Stock feature had a brilliant end with a sweet-as-pie outside/in move coming to the checkers. And there was more than once I thought those Figure 8 cars were going to slice each other in half - my hat is off to those guys, they have a cast iron set...

Superb car counts, great racing action, best admission prices, friendly staff and good food - that's all you need out of a race track. I wish I could get up there more often.

It seems like that just about every time I go there. Always action-packed, full fields, full grandstands. I don't know why it doesn't get more recognition for the great job they do over there.

It seems like the best run and well attended tracks are the ones that get the LEAST attention on here.... Volusia, Citrus, East Bay, Ocala. Nothing against the rest, but I rarely here the bitches and moans about these 4 tracks. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, but the quiet wheels are getting the fans.

      Lets go

All the tracks around me are closed this weekend. Lets try Citrus; I've only been there once and that was many years ago. JT, Frass, AB195, anyone want to ride along?

No controversy is why no one talks about it. I went over there from orlando every week throughout the late 80's and 90's. Some of the best racing I have ever seen came from that bullring. Is Larry still there?

Its too bad the SSS dont race there this year. Hopefully next. Every time I have been there it had great car counts, stands were full, awsome racing and we were packed up and out of there by 11:30. Would love to go Sat but I am not sure if I can close early.

              You Forgot One

Hey guys.....Don't forget Bronson!! Clean track and pits(no mud or dust), friendley staff, good food. Just out and away from everywhere, but I really enjoy racin' over there.

I really miss going to citrus. Always good racing and car count.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

BACKROW, If your asking about the announcer, then I'd have to say NO. The last couple of seasons, Wolf[Ocala radio announcer,102.3FM] has announced. I'm not sure about this season, but I think he is still there.Hope this helps.

Yes, I was asking about Larry Macmillen (sp?). Its been awhile since I made the journey over there. I always thought he did a great job.

I haven't been this year but last year, Larry and Wolf shared the announcing. I believe it's still that way. Perhaps someone more familiar can answer. I like Larry also.

                        Wolf Bowers

Wolf told me two weeks ago that he was not announcin' at Citrus anymore. With fan count down it was a budget move by the track. Wolf chose to step out for a while. I think Larry is the main announcer now.
