Hi Everyone.
Just wanted to let everyone know that Wendy is ok from last night's crash. She's very sore and the car is definitely in a bad way as you can see below.
Thanks to all of the fans, drivers and officials that stopped by after the race. Citrus County has great track officials, CFSS has great series officials and the safety crew are second to none. Big thanks to Brian Gingras for loaning us a spring when we made a change for the feature. Thanks also to Mr. Gimmler for stopping by and recommending a great place to get the car fixed, which we will do. Thanks also to the Barfields for stopping by after the race to check on Wendy. Also, whoever found our shock that cleared the fence, thank you very much. Same goes for the steering wheel that flew off during the wreck. I know I'm forgetting a bunch more people, but I was a little stunned when looking at our poor mangled car, so I apologize.
For those of you that saw the wreck, I'd like to point out that Wendy runs some of the best safety equipment money can buy and for that we are very thankful. Last night the Butler seat, Bell helmet and Hans device all did their job. Please, don't ever think twice about safety equipment, it's just not worth the risk. I can't say enough about the Butler seat we have in that car.
If anyone has video of the incident, please send me an e-mail at wendymathispr@gmail.com. I'd like to send it in to Bell and Butler to show them what a great job their equipment did. And to be perfectly honest, as soon as she got airborne I took off running so I didn't even see the whole wreck.
Nonetheless, thank you to everyone, we'll be back to fight another day. Here are a few pics of the car and Wendy in good spirits a little later. I'll post a few more later when I update her website.
Thanks again all of you Wendy fans, you guys are the best!
