  • Johnny Collins wins At Charlotte County 50 laps caution free

Unbelievably the United Dirt Late Models ran 50 caution free laps with Johnny Collins fighting his way to the lead and pulling away. Mike Bresnahan took second. Dusty Cone was third. Lots of side by side racing. Shan Smith took fourth in his topless #17ss...

A packed house with 3000 fans and drivers witnessed an amazing exhibition of short track driving talents racing hard for 50 laps in 13 minutes. We interviewed many fans and they were all extremely excited about the whole deal.

Of course you will have to tune into Inside Florida Racing for all the details.

As a side note: PROMOTION WORKS!

Sorry to burst your bubble Carol but thats Jim Fenton, not winger. Winger couldn't make it. His daughter got married in NC and he was whipped driving home. I love you! Bob..........

              The best

If you all missed CCMP last night you missed a show. All the racing was good but the UDLMCS showed a level of professinalism unmatched by other racing series. They drove cars built for handleing on a dirt surface, with 7 year old tires, quite possibly harder than the asphalt they were on and ran a 50 lap race flag to flag with out a caution. I am in awe of the people at CCMP that donated their time to spruce up the track for the UDLMCS and the fans. The winners circle was absolutely beautiful. The track and its sorounding area was very well prepared. I commend Bobby and the staff for an awesome night of racing and a beatiful track. Bob..........

Ditto what Bob said. I couldn't agree more.

In only my second time back to a short track since I stepped out of the FOUR back in 83', I was very impressed.

                The track was immaculate, organized and very well run. I enjoyed the entire show immensely, especially the UDLM’s. Certain accolades are in order;

Bob (Flvideo): Mega-thanks for bugging me until I made the trip, and for carting my son J.C. and myself down there. I hope we weren’t too much of a pain. Man-o-man you really work your butt off on your video & still-shot responsibilities at the track for an old fart. I give you lots of credit for that. Heck, I’d have to get one of them Segway things if I wanted to try to keep up. It was a pleasure to meet both you and your wife. Thanks.

Bobby Diehl: Thanks so much for taking the time to speak to my son and myself, introducing us to your lovely wife, and filling us in with a brief summary of your work, especially with the kids. I had heard some great compliments about you in general but I had no idea of your real efforts and accomplishments until last night. I’ll say one thing, if I was still affiliated with a race-car, you’d have to run me off from CCMP every weekend. Mega-kudos to the job you’re doing with CCMP & the Fast Truck series. Keep up the good work! Oh yeah, Happy 31st. Anniversary to you and your wife!!

OSF: Thanks for taking the time to run me down in the stands. It was a pleasure to meet & BS a little about old times. Maybe we’ll catch-up again down the road.

And last but not least, Carol Wicks: It was great to finally meet you and put a face with the name. I knew you were a little confused last night when you introduced me to another gentleman as “Winger”. I tried a few times to correct you last night and explain but I knew you were bubbling over about the success of the evening and it was kinda goin in one ear and out the other (sort of like when I talk to my wife) so I didn’t keep belaboring the issue. I’ve never met Winger before except to see his posts on this board but I’m sure you haven’t paid him any compliments with that picture caption. BTW, I’m thinking you better have that camera checked, it makes people look fat! LOL.

Seriously, thanks Carol for taking some time for my son & myself and especially for all you do for the sport. You are a true crusader and those that have you on their team should be grateful.

                Thanks Again All!

                    10. Roger Crouse
                    11. Bill Howard
                    12. Bobby Clark
                    13. Paul Gibbs

                    16. Johnny Allen
                    17. Jackie Nosbish DNS - motor
                    Dusty Cone DQ

Drivers that are DQ'd receive NO points, and are NOT in the finishing order.
He was DQ'd when his engine was found to be to large for his weight after the race and refused to pull it down to verify it's size.

Man, it's great to see what a success this race was. Wish I was there, but at least I was in Carol's eyes. Congrats to all the racers, UDLMCS, and to Bobby Diehl for the great success.
                      The real Winger.
