FARA has received approval to incorporate the Southern Pro Am Truck Series to their 2015 race schedule and race under the FT-1 Class for the Miami 500, and for any other event throughout the 2016 FARA race schedule.
This is big real big for them.
They are doing a great job promoting there trucks to the new fan. attaboy

I guess if you want to go road racing? Wouldn't you just go road racing in a vehicle more designed for that? I don't know, I guess I'll have to see how this plays out, but I have my doubts.

Don I know you tired to make Road Racing work. Sebring was a blast.

Don I know you tired hard to make Road Racing work. Sebring was a blast( the FASTRUCKs, Late Models, Mod Mini's). The standard trans will make a BIG difference. Remember all the blown trans and crashed trucks because of the GM brakes failuring. But it was a BLAST!!! Hope they can make it payoff. I know about 5 or six American trucks went to shifter and ran SP1 in the SCCA. Racing for just trophy's. You always said they would just race for the GLORY!!!! I wish I had a truck to race with them. Teddy and I were even thinking about the Daytona 24 hr. Back in 1996. The zz4 was proven there (at Daytona and Sebring) in the 1998 Camaro's that Robert McElhainee (not sure of the spelling) raced out of Abraham Chevy.

At least they will be seen buy a larger group of potencial sponsors. They might build a few new stock car fans. We keep playing to the same small dyeing fan group and the chance of any growth is slim.
It was a great shot in the arm for the SLM teams. They proved they could race on any track

The two truck races at Sebring were the reason I'm road racing today! Love it! Just a little bit of fun racing with 100+cars on track with you.
My next race is in two weeks at Sebring and I get butterflies thinking about it! Also our first race using a 602 crate!

I just think if I want to go road racing, I'm not likely to do it in a vehicle such as a truck with an automatic transmission. And I really like road racing. I used to love when we took the Busch North car to Lime Rock and Watkins Glen. But I just don't see a truck running a road course event on a regular basis. Once a year would be fine, but I think SPATS knows that without a place to race, they cease to exist, and that's why they are branching off in this dircetion.
