I dont know any of the DIRT drivers so I am gonna go with Shan Smith simply because he had me in stitches on INSIDE FLORIDA RACING Monday night...
But you guys have more experience with the dirt drivers SO WHO'S IT GONNA BE?????

Don't forget! These guys will be attacking your adrenalin at CCMP this Saturday night... 8/16/08 !!!

Im going to have to say Ivedent Lloyd. If he was a part of the series I would be calling a bookie putting a bet on Cecil Eunice. Used to watch that orange 22 put it on them at Osp in what was the old National Late Model Sportsman Series races.

I was thinking Wayne Anderson could put on a very respectable performance if he were to show. Same with Mike Bresnahan or Rich Pratt. All of them have extensive asphalt experience.

If the asphalt ringers don't show, I'll have to go with Mark Whitener. That boy can race the wheels off of any car he gets into!

I hope someone can post a listing of the drivers that are coming (or early enough on race day to make a last-minute dash down there). The LM's should be good, but truthfully, 3 divisions of Truck racing that night are 3 divisions too many for me!

I'm hoping I can somehow arrange to make it to this show. My picks would have to be the asphalt transplants but I'd pick an asphalt regular in Anderson if he runs. Then Pratt and Bresnahan. For the dirt regulars, I like the styles of Collins and Shane Williams for asphalt also and they've both been on winning streaks lately. Hope the turnout is good and hope I can make it and get into the infield so I can get some pictures.

A few KINKS for you to think about.
                  1. Tires. The tires are older and narrower than many of them are used to running on asphalt. So this may change some things
                  2. The handling of a dirt car on asphalt are VERY VERY different than any asphalt car and can cause there racing lines to be totally different. The Dirt cars will run in areas where an asphalt car will not. This may remove any advantage someone with previous asphalt experience may have had.
                  3. Speed. Limited motor dirt late models are typically 1 - 1 1/2 seconds faster per lap and an asphalt Super Late Model. Dirt Super Late Models are typically 2 - 2 1/2 seconds faster per lap and an asphalt super late model.
                  4. Patrick Williams may not be there due to engine issues.
                  5. Roger Crouse lost his chassis in a wreck at Volusia. The car he is driving now is a different type of chassis. He has run it last week at Waycross but I do not think at any other times. So he is still trying to get used to a new car and now he his hitting asphalt! He could very well be the unknown commodity but Roger runs well in anything.
                  6. Ivedent is a series member and has run at a few races. This schedule has him off this week so there is an outside chance he may run. I have not heard anything from him but he has nothing posted.
                  7. There were some of the top asphalt racers from Florida that were looking for cars for this race. Again I have not heard if any have gotten a seat but it could make it VERY interesting!

I doubt Ivedent will be there this weekend since his wife just gave birth to their 3rd son 2 days ago.......Of course you never know, except he knows that asphalt is for getting there and dirt is for racing!!!!
Just by luck, I ran into Rich Pratt yesterday and he said he wasn't going. I got the feeling that if he wanted to run asphalt, he would have never sold his car!!! His plans [as of now] are to not race until Sept.
My feeling for this race is that there is not gonna be that many cars there, just like last week. Hopefully last week was just a fluke. Most of the cars that you see this weekend will probably be those that are running for points. I'd say 18-20 cars will show.

I spoke with Ivedent and they are heading North for an event. We knew that these 2 races were going to be the hardest to get racers to. Your guess of 18-20 cars is a very realistic number and I agree. The race at North Florida should put us back into the 40's for car count.
