this is a great idea, school bus figure 8 has proven to be safe and entertaining for all- except the 2 people killed over the last few years doing it....(Citrus and New Smyrna, right?)
didn't someone have to go to the hospital from Showtime a couple weeks ago doing this BS

The safety at these bus shows is despicable. It's only a matter of time before someone else dies or gets seriously injured. But hey, it's great entertainment.

Sorry to hi jack this thread Linda. But each time a race car driver straps into a car,truck or even a go cart, they take a risk of getting killed, they should know that getting in. However if the tracks "tech inspector or safety director" fails to to their job. And let's an unsafe car,bus or whatever that he or she is racing, pass inspection and they let them enter the racing surface, that's on the track's managment. And they get hurt because of an "unsafe car" I'm sure Morgan & Morgan will be beating their door down to sue. I can recelect about 10 years ago a street stock car in Punta Gorda having had the cage made of fence tubing. They would NOT let it run,good call by the track,and the person trying to run it was an idiot!

not really a complaint- I think school bus figure 8 is a bad idea

why you would think I "prefer" to watch people die on the interstate? I can't follow your logic there

I do agree with you on one thing; if I don't like it I should not watch


I sincerely hope that everyone has a safe weekend at whatever track they go to- drivers, crews, officials, and fans!

The problem with the Busses in regards to safety is no roll cage and no racing seat and 5 point harness. Whether it's a Bus, a Winnebago, an Enduro car or a Bomber nothing belongs on a racetrack anywhere without these safety items. Period.

Bobby, I prefer the non-winged demons as I can generally outrun the ones on foot, but the flying demons...

Actually, also prefer non winged sprint cars. To me, the winged cars just take off and scream around, whereas the non-winged cars have to handle (or not), and the on-track product (ie racing) is better.

BUT, Boneman prefers winged cars, and I will not be making the show either way, so...maybe check with your competitors & see which setup will pull the largest field?
