A sad situation. Management like this just makes it harder to recover in case someone wants to give it another try one day. Weather, location, lay-out, demographics, wow that track could be such a success....

Does anyone really think the Haase family is going to make a go of this. No. But in their defense, i'll bet that what the walked into was way more than they anticipated. I imagine there were surprises around every corner. I've heard stories about Kevin and his henchmen going to extreme lengths to make sure it would cost as much as possible to get that track up and running again.
The blame for the current state of affairs down there can be placed directly on the Airport Authority. Did they investigate the full extent of the damage at the track before leasing it out? Or did they cover up a lot of the damage they knew existed just to get the placed leased to the first sucker who came along?
Did they vet the Haase family to make sure they had the necessary money and expertise to get the place up and running? Or were they just happy to have a signature on the lease and be rid of the problem?
Did the Airport Authority do regular checks of the property to be sure the lease was being followed as written? Or did the extent of their oversight consist of driving by the facility on their way home sometimes? Seems like they would have noticed that no bleachers were ever erected, even driving by on their way home.
It seems that the Haase family had neither the knowledge or the money to make a go of the track. They came in from out of state, wide eyed at the prospect of getting a spectacular deal on a fixer upper. How hard could it be to rebuild the place and turn it into, in the words of nascar, a motorsports stadium? Why didn't the Airport Authority see that?
And why does the Airport Authority allow leftist organizations like the SWMC ( the South West Motorsports Community ) to speak in these meetings. Why would a group from another part of the United States have anything pertinent to say about racing in Florida.

I believe the airport authority wanted it to fail. That's why they leased it to these idiots, even though they were not the highest bidder, because they knew that they didn't have a snowballs chance to make it work. They barely had enough money to buy the three palms from Lowes, even though they were on sale.
