Not just the Drivers were WINNER's last night at Desoto Speedway!

Denny open his doors to groups of people that most have never seen a race before (with hope of developing a New Fan base). All the windows at the front gates were open and busy. Each Fan got a American flag when entering the Speedway. It didn't take long for the Grand Stands fill to the most it's seen and a while. We had the Family's from the "Sarasota Y/ Safe Children Coalition (Foster Families) who kids fell in love with the action. You could see in their eyes filled with the excitement and that NEW FAN look! Another group was "Boyette Animal Hospital" folks who proved driving from the Brandon area isn't out of the drawing zone for Promotion Team. The "Haskell Construction Group" sure enjoyed the ice cold Budweiser and great food from the concession stands. D&H families came from new homes just around the corner. I said they heard the sounds but hadn't been to the Track before (many are Northerners that relocated to our Sun Shine State). And finally "The New Faith Church" families got the see why all those race cars past their church ever Saturday.

The Bradenton Marauders (feeder to the Pittsburg Pirates) proved cross marketing works. Fans from the Base Ball World came and compared everything from the Hot Dogs to the action on the asphalt circle. Also giving out 750 FREE tickets to their game today (yep it works)!!!!

The great Folks from AutoNation Ford in Bradenton brought out two of their inventory. A "HOT LOOKING" 2016 Action Orange Mustang GT to pace the "Q" Auto & Injury Attorneys Pro Trucks. Craig did a HELL of a job pacing the field after the yellows. And a 2016 Ford F 250 4x4 "Black Beauty" with a 6 inch lift for the mall area. I think Ford sold a couple of units last night.

So with the old saying "The Most Expensive Seat in the House is the Empty One" was true (there sure wasn't very many of them) last night. Now the true test will be to see how many new Fans were born from Denny's generosity. In closing; Not just the Drivers were WINNER's last night at Desoto!!!! Sure hope to see everyone on July 25th when those Winged Devils of the Asphalt make up their rain date of 6/20. See yeah!!!!

Was great to see a packed house last night. There was a lot of energy and real good racing.

Two races and the truck count thinned immensely. hope it's not a trend.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

I haven't researched that. Don't have an answer. When you find out, you let me know?

That is why we need Touring Series again.

That is why we need Touring Series again. Some of the track believe they need to keep their Racers home just for there races. When a Touring Series comes it bring the extra Teams that like to race different Tracks. Citrus has no truck divisions and we will have 20+ there I am sure. The point is that the Fans base has gotten lower to the car counts. And that's why we NEED Pro Touring Teams again. Keep watching and you will see.

We need: Sprints, Late Models, Sportsman, Open Wheeled Mods, Mod Mini's,and Trucks. If you get two or three Tracks working together the counts will come back and so will the Fans counts.

Remember (I not the sharpest pencil in box BUT!!!) when car counts go up it makes Fan count go up and that makes track sponsorships (bill boards, divisional sponsorship,etc...) go up as well then everyone WINS!!!!

Bobby. Continue to do what you do sir. I wasn't being negative on truck counts, just wondering where they are. Touring would be a good thing now it seems from sportsman class up.

Truth is, many truck drivers either told me or posted that they weren't interested in coming bc it wasn't a series race. I don't have a dog in the fight, but I can tell their is a collective will to form a series and hit some different tracks.

Oh yeah the Fans would love to see 24 Sportsman....

Oh yeah the Fans would love to see 24 plus Sportsman's racing hard for a Touring Championship. The same with any of they other divisions. Makes no sense not having a touring system. Stay tuned thing may change.
