Thanks again, AJ. Yeah they are pretty much what the old Limited Late Models were but with cheaper shocks, motors, tires and 8" rims. And of course, any body that you like.

I may be a low-buck racer but I refuse to race junk. Anything worth doing, is worth doing right in my book. As a result we go through that thing pretty thoroughly before every race (whether or not it comes home clean or in a basket!). With Patrick Thomas's and Brad May's shocks and advice we are getting closer and closer. Thanks for being part of an awesome team at Desoto that makes racing there a pleasure. Problem is, it's making it kinda hard to want to go anywhere else when you guys are closed July and August (but somehow I will).

Thanks Lurkin! Yes I was happy that our car count is getting stronger. Not quite there yet but we are working on it. Everybody is having fun. More need to come join the party. I lent a quick change gear to one of the new guys Saturday. When he came back with it after the feature I asked him "Well, did you have fun tonight?". He got a big grin on his face and said "Hell yeah!". I replied "That's what it's all about!".

At 5 Flags the class is called Super Stock. The problem I noticed with them when I was there helping Patrick at the Snowball was that the rules are too wide open and you can pretty much run a Pro Late for what those cars are. I get Ricky's concept with the class. A place for old outdated Late Models to run with a tire that helps even things up. The motor rules are just too lenient for what that class is trying to do. You guys need to give a weight advantage to the crate 602's and it should help the car counts flourish as the 602/ Hoosier R750 combination is doing down here. There was a good field at the Snowball but I have heard the weekly count is less than stellar as you mentioned. Anywho all that motor was proven that night to be unnecessary as Patrick Thomas broke the track record in qualifying and the 602's went 1-2 in the feature with Brandon Morris winning and PT finishing 2nd. Former ARCA racer and Gulf Coast legend Dave Mader III was a distant 3rd with his expensive motor. For that race there was a weight break for the 602's. Maybe a little too much, lol.

I was there. :-) and I totally agree they HAVE to do something with costs soon or the class will be dead by the end of the year. RB has the right idea, it's the same concept that you guys use, however I also agree that they are spending enough to just have a Pro Late, which around here have bigger fields and bigger purses and also the possibility of competing in the Snowflake, why have a Super Stock might as well have a LM. They have to get the cost back in line with the true Sportsman's out there that can't afford a freaking Late Model

Also, I know Mader a little as he drove a few times for a friend I help. He's convinced it's "them damn bodies" when pressed that "those bodies" are allowed now, it's "them ain't no legal 602's" . You're never gonna convince
guys with 15k in their engine that you beat em with a 5k engine without cheating. Been there, done that, got the t shirt and was ran out of town.
Why The F do I wanna see another ABC bodied class that looks exactly like the SLM or PLM anyway?! BORING!
