  • East coast oval kart tracks in FL

A buddy of mine just texted me interested in getting into karts. He doesn't have a preference of Dirt or Paved he just wants to get into some small time fun competitive racing. I already know of the track down in Hobe Sound, which is about 45 minutes south of him but didn't know if there was anything else within about an hour and a half of the Vero Beach area... Anyone? Thanks!

Both Putnam and VSP have kart races,,,NSS built a kart track off turn 3 but not sure if they have events.

Phil, I used to own and operated Hobe Sound. The real name Martin County Kartway. Lots of good memories there.

There is a kart track outside of Cocoa Beach called Hurricane speedway. I think they are still in business. It was paved like my track in Hobe Sound. But I believe Darrell put dirt over the surface. And now it is a dirt track. Check it out.

Hurricane is reopening later this season. At the moment, they are digging up and dirt and will race on the pavement that was buried 10 years ago.

              PJ,

Am not sure that they are still racing on it, but there used to be a 1/5 or so pavement oval at VSP that they used to race karts on.

Pushing the 1.5 hour thing, but...
