ps--As of July, there appears that there will be New Smyrna, Auburndale, and St Pete to choose from.

Some have had "issues" with all three, but those will be the venues to choose from.

Inverness, and Bithlo still have great potential.

Hopefully Desoto will return bigger and better than ever in Sept.

I am guessing the retaining walls will be (wait for it, Phil, wait for it...) BLUE!

I don't believe in dark colors for walls. Red and White has always worked well in many places or just plain white. With dark colored walls it can mess with depth perception at night for some drivers. Some use the shadow on the wall as a reference or visual cue for judgement.

You guys can view this as you would like, but I wanted to share this with all of you. In my eyes, this is exactly the type of person that tracks all over this country need. Shawn was a rough and rugged racer... Scott will tell you this first hand, but at the end of the day he was respected by many. He was a racer from the bottom to the top and has a true passion for the sport. He runs his own successful business, and after being given the chance to take over as manager of the New London-Waterford Speedbowl in a very short time, with his back against the wall in many ways, it's very clear why he was chosen to manage our track. Short Track Racing needs more people like Shawn. This isn't a direct stab at anyone but hopefully it will help and inspire some track owners, managers and promoters in FL in some way.

The only two Divisions at Stafford worth watching are SK and SK Light, which are bottom feeder wreckfests.

Rumor has it this morning that some BIG changes are coming for 2016.
Phil I missed where you live currently, in CT or in FL? I bounce back and forth and let me tell you I was at Stafford last night and the worst track in CT (just making a point based off what you said) is 10 times better than the best in Florida. We had to park out in the street thats how many people were there. The stands may not have been 100% full but if the people at the FL tracks saw a picture of the stands their jaws would drop. I have to respectfully disagree with the SK wreck fest comment as well, the SK race two weeks ago was probably one of the best short track races I've ever seen, that rules package is incredible, other than the fact that a motor is $18K, I'm not sure why they don't just run crate motors. I may not know the ins and outs of what is going on up here between the tracks, but from a racers and fans perspective Stafford is amazing compared to anything I've been to in the southeast, maybe five flags is semi close but thats it. If we had a track in FL that was as nice as Stafford I would race there every weekend based simply on how nice the facility is and the size of the crowd, you can have the rest. Not throwing any stones I just don't want the other people on here to thing you are talking apples to apples when making comparisons between the tracks, they are apples and oranges.

Stafford has some good shows but lets do a small comparison. Waterford the past 3 weeks. 6 cautions total over 3 races in SK. Stafford usually has that in 1 night. Every time I go half the field balls it up in turn 1 at some point. On the flip side, 2 years ago Waterford was a major sk shit show weekly. I attribute it to the man in the tower making calls. You got lucky catching a good show last night but that's generally how it is on tour rubber. It makes the cars tight and a lot of guys are a tad more careful cause the nose can take off on that greasy shit. Its 6 of 1, a half dozen of the other. Every track has bad nights but Stafford one groove bottom feeding nature causes them more often.

I am in MA by the way.

Oh and don't judge last nights crowd there. It's because the mod tour was there. They are usually lucky to see 1500 people which I am sure fl tracks would kill for. Waterford had a record crowd last Sat with the tour too and tonight was about 2000ppl.

Don't get me started on that tour rubber. I ran a mini stock feature directly after a mod tour race at Seekonk and what was normally a top 5 car every week plowed like a dump truck. I was never so damn frustrated in my life. I couldn't get any forward bite to pass anyone.

Am glad you are part of all that, there is hope that "feeling" could come to some tracks that lend themselves to great racing here.
Wow...That was an amazing video. I can think of a certain 1/4 mile track in west Central Florida that used to feel like that. Now it's shut down and as a fan it breaks my heart.

Unfortunately, there are a number of tracks that fit backrow's description...
