Now, if Yoho'd run Citrus on a Friday night....

When Dan Jones ran Inverness and St. Pete, it was Citrus on Friday nights and Sunshine on Saturdays. PACKED house in the stands every week, full fields of cars, and great payouts. We towed all the way from Vero every week to run over there at both tracks.

    Let's see what happens...

Just remember, nothing is like it used to be...

BTW, The "State" has be going to build this "road" for many years. The Hill's were lucky to cash out on this political dream...I live in the area and wonder, what road is needed??? Yoohoo is safe!

I've heard that Yoho isn't the only one that's filled out paperwork to lease Showtime. There are supposedly at least 2 other groups interested, both with plenty of money.

Yoho would be good for Citrus, hell Mickey Mouse would be better than the slime ball that is running it now

Rick, can you give Nathan his own thread to bash and attack and flame Gary LaPlant? I thought attacks weren't allowed on this site. His personal vendetta has gotten real old and it's just beating a dead horse at this point. He is a toxic person and is exactly what is killing short track racing in this state.

Seems like a "premier class" could be featured at each track and then rotated through the other two.

That is, say, Late Models, Modifieds, and Sprint cars would be rotated through the tracks, racing somewhere every week, with support classes also either rotated or fixed, depending on car count.

This of course would split the Saturday night money three ways.

However, the catch 22 regarding Friday night is... is there any money to be made on Fridays? I know it works up north, but it never worked very well at Bithlo. Back in the day they ran Late Models, Sportsman, Modifieds and support classes together on Friday nights to a mediocre crowd.

Annnnnnnnd, given that most racers lose money every time the car turns a lap, do they even want to race twice a week?

Maybe input from those racers that may be involved....?

                de shade, Boss, de shade...

                Yoho,

Re Citrus: Please make the backstretch grandstands available to the fans at frontstretch prices, and start the races @ 7, like, y'know, that great facility in St. Pete.

Seems like a fairly smart move because regardless of what is said from the state I have to think the track is in constant danger of being eaten up by this construction. I drive right by the track on multiple sides many times a day, and it's a mess around it and nobody can really predict what the state is going to decide. And the next plan (that is going to affect my business too) is that they are going to finish the elevated road over 118th ave all the way to US19. And then the new road will cut right across the speedway property to connect 118th to 49th st right by the airport. That part is going to have to affect the oval or the dragstrip, but who knows when they might get to it.

Friday's could work! The old little Lakeland speedway 1/4 mile used to get good car count and a good crowd!
