Sprints, Pro Trucks take to track Saturday at Desoto
The Wing Sprint Cars and the Q Auto and Injury Attorneys Pro Trucks headline this Saturday's "Florida Watermelon Night" activities at Desoto Speedway in Bradenton.

Outlaw Winged Sprint Cars - the fastest cars that race at Desoto Speedway - make their return to the 3/8-mile high banks for the first time since March, when Sport Allen in the no. 88 Dayton Andrews Dodge special took a
page out of Troy DeCaire's book and used the high line to take a victory in the 40-lap feature. The Andrews car has racked up three wins so far in 2015 at Desoto, with Dave Steele taking both the non-wing and wing sprint
feature wins at Desoto in February.

Dave Retzlaff holds the sprint car points lead over Sarasota's Ernie Teed Jr. by eight markers, with multiple-time Desoto feature winner Joey "The Ace" Aguilar sitting in third just nine points back. Other drivers that could be making appearances this weekend include former TBARA champions Johnny Gilbertson, Shane Butler and Stan Butler; along with Travis Bliemiester and Scotty Adema.

Danny Anderson will be looking for his third Desoto feature win of the season in what is expected to be a large field for twin 25-lap features in the Q Auto and Injury Attorneys Pro Trucks. The last time the trucks raced at Desoto it was Anderson's no. 50 truck sitting in the winner's circle at the end of the night after a late pass of Chad Chastain's no. 36
Florida Watermelon truck in the closing laps of a race mostly dominated by Chastain.

Anderson leads Chastain by just two points in the Pro Truck standings. Steve Darvalics, who won during Icebreaker weekend in February, sits third just nine points behind Anderson.

The LKQ Pick Your Part Pure Stocks are also scheduled to be in action Saturday night. Kyle Best, who drove a brand new no. 63 car for this first time this season last weekend, leads the series two wins and has a 33-point advantage in the standings.

In other action Saturday night, Darrin Ellis will be looking for his third straight Modified Mini feature in a main event that figures to be a tight battle between Ellis in his no. 72 car, points leader and earlier feature winner Lee Davis the black and yellow no. 77 in the and former feature winner Tom Zimmerman in the blue no. 55. In the Take Aim Gun Range Street Stocks, Mike Karrivan will be looking for his third win of the season in the black no. 45 car.

In addition to racing Saturday night, Florida Watermelon officials will be on hand to provide samples of Florida Fresh Watermelons that are in season now.

Front gates open at 4:30 and racing starts at 7.
Front gate ticket prices are $20 for adults, $15 for senior and kids 10 and under are free.
The track will also have the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on flat screen TVs located in the Breezeway and Turn Four Bar.
