Just sitting here reading all this CRAP, thinking about "back in the day'" when drivers raced 2 and 3 times a week and you didn't need a program to know the names. They showed up each week and was that track's racing stars. If they raced one night a week they raced at the local track and were stars. No series to take them away from the local track. Stands were full and wanting to see their favorite and I was no different and made me want to race one day. There to see good racing of full classes and features. Drivers that would start in the rear come thur the class and not tear up the cars and win then know that they would be starting in the rear the next week. There to see if any pay backs were coming this week from last week's race. Every series name sure have something in common, the word "CRAP'" in its series name.

Let these idiots fail... It's inevitable. They are both hard headed. How many times have we seen this before... Either one will win out and the other will lose out, or both will fail completely. I'm just sitting here with my bag of popcorn watching these two absolutely unprofessional dingbats ruin their reputations themselves...Originally posted by UREZ2PASS View PostWaiting for Phil Jacques to straighten this mess out. It's like 4 service stations on same street corner, there always will be one that prevail. But that will not necessarly kill the 3 others.
There are 5 well known dirt tracks in Central//Southern Florida and they all seems to be doing pretty good, despite the fact that 4 of them are on Saturday, how come? Xplain that to me Lucy, to use a familiar expression on this board.
If people would do their own thing, use all of their energy to do their stuff, instead of worrying about the others, thing would move forward a lot faster instead of stalling and idling.
You have a project, stop talking about it, and go ahead, put it in motion. Show us.
If it's worth anything people will back you up. If it ain't worth shit, you'll sink with it. But at least, you will have tried something.André Fortin

[QUOTE=gary laplant;159154]Ahhh,so you're the promoter that caused the whole thing to fail.Originally posted by Rick B. View PostSPATS Claim ………..."In 2013, the Southern Pro Am Truck Series agreed to meet with the promoter of the old Joey Coulter Truck Series; this meeting was requested by a local Florida race track owner with the hope that the two Series would agree to merge. This meeting was unproductive as the promoter was unwilling to merge with the Southern Pro Am Truck Series, belittled the Series’ mission/vision and communicated that the Southern Pro Am Truck Series would fail"
I was the promoter that asked for the meeting in 2013 and I still say there should only be one truck series. I have spoke with Bobby D and Danny Anderson about the Fastruck generation seires I have also spoke with Bobby Owens of the SPAT series in asking both of them to sit down and talk again as a full group from both series. In reading all of this all that is happening is a big mess for the drivers and the great fans that all of track owenrs have. So truck series personal let sit down and work your personal problem out and dont make the drivers and the fans pay this great price of all this.
I also have said that all track owners should work togehter much more also as a full team to make Florida Short Track at its best.
The main goal is to have more car or truck along with fans at our local track to have full granstand and good car count. Not working together has shown low car count and low fans in the seats at some of our local tracksover the last year.
As a owner of a track we may not like each other 100% but if we work together better we can save money in many ways and would give us buying power on our food, fuel, tires, beer, etc. Have our rules the same payout the same start of each other schedule of big races. Let put the fun back into Floida Short Track races. I would be very willing to sit down with all the track owners to work many problems out in Florida Short Track racing anybody other track owner willing???
Just MY thought
Gary Laplant
There will never be an alliance between race tracks in Florida. You might want to concentrate on your own deal and forget about trying to get other tracks to go your way. They all have better programs than you do, and they seem like they're heading in the right direction. You would have to really up your payouts to be in line with other tracks. And the other tracks are likely paying less than you are for tires and food and beer and gas anyway. What do they need you for.
From what i've seen here and heard, you've made a lot of enemies at Citrus. Just concentrate on getting the cars and fans back. That's a good track, it deserves to be managed well.

Ground Pounder and Old school ...
Nope I can't do anything about it I guess except tell the truth. Joey Coulter and I talked after, he also talked to one of the SPATS personel after that said meeting and knows what I am saying is true. So maybe you want to say he would not be telling the truth either. I have no reason to lie, we had a series they had one race, we were willing to work together and move forward on the rules in a proper way ..... they ultimately decided to not merge and they basically were silent until these last few weeks. Then they come out about a meeting I had nothing to do with and make a false statement so I am telling you that is not true. But as always your welcome in this free country to think what ever you like......Rick Bristol

That's no excuse. The sportsman division runs multiple chassis types. They all run fairly competitive together. Nope, not buying that one. There are ways to fix that with weight or left % penalties if needed. This whole deal is greed and ignorance. It's gonna go down in flames like the Hindenburg in 8-10 months.Originally posted by OldSchool+ View Postdragman--here, here!
As I understand it, one series has chassis advantages. So if a promoter let them all come, the other guys will be disadvantaged.

It will all shake out okay.
>>Plenty of trucks, plenty of interest, 2 series can run here and there.
>>The truck-count (!) drops, and either the series will merge with PJ-type handicaps, or the tracks will mandate rules with those same handicaps.
>>Or, sadly, there will not be enough trucks or support, period.
Hey, and this is a straight up question--assuming the rest is "legal", a truck body is legal in Sportsman, correct?

Oh no! Please don't encourage that bad idea Old School. Years ago at Phil's Waterford Speedbowl they changed the Late Model class name to "American Challenge" and allowed Trucks. It sucked and was dangerous. Sitting low in a Late Model (or Sportsman type) bodied car all you saw was tailgate when you were behind the much taller bodied Trucks. Whenever an incident happened you just plowed into the back of the Truck because you couldn't see. That "experiment" lasted one year (just like it did at NSS). Besides most Trucks run the GM 603 crate which is not legal in Sportsman. No fun sliding around in the AT fluid that Trucks invariably lay down too.
