"In a surprising move, Brian France announces that Jeremy Mayfield has been reinstated. 'After spending a few long evenings with Jeremy I have concluded that he really is not a bad guy and the testing and so forth was a huge misunderstanding. Therefore Jeremy's NASCAR license is reinstated effectively immediately' France said. Reportedly Gene Haas has contacted Jeremy about driving a second car based out of the same shop as Kurt Busch and is exploring sponsorship options.
