  • A Terry Roberts story

You learn about someone's character by the way they behave when no one is looking. Several years ago, maybe it was 2002 or 2003, I had put up money to sponsor a lap in a big race. It was probably the Governor's Cup. Anyway, I did it well in advance of the event.

Terry got sick that year, and missed some of the preparation for the race. The event was held, but the lap money program was never completed, so no lap money was awarded that year. I had probably forgotten about the little bit I dontated; it certainly was not keeping me awake at night. Anyway, many weeks after the event, Terry saw me at NSS. He stuffed the money back in my hand, then offered an apology for not getting it to the drivers. I didn't even have to ask for it!

It is interesting too that Terry and Liz have always been very cordial and welcoming to me at NSS. I am a small fish in that pond, yet they always treated me like a star.

Wishing them the best of luck and much success at the new track!

Terry and Liz have always welcome me and thank me for coming to the track. I going to miss them both. Hopefully Robert will take some time to fined replacement that will carry on what Terry has started. Hopefully he will maybe consider Rusty for the replacement. I also think there are others that work for him right now that would make a good GM. Rusty GM at NSS and Butch GM at OSW.

      Another Story

Everytime I have been to Orlando and NSS, Terry has gone out of his way to come over and say hi (has never failed).
A few years ago, while camping at NSS in my regular spot, Terry ecountered a problem with someone who had camped nearby, but in the way of the parking layout. Terry had asked this person to move at which they got smart mouth with him.
With them being so close to my camp site, Terry put up with some crap from them because he thought the guy was with me.
Terry later pulled me aside and asked me if I could help out with the situation to prevent him calling the police. I told Terry to do what he needed to do, bacause they were NOT with me (and because of the way they were acting).
I have a world of respect for Terry Roberts (and none for the person that gave him a rough time over a camping site on THEIR property).
Good luck Terry - You will be missed.

          Losing a good couple !

Just wanted to say that FASCAR and NSS are losing a good couple. Terry and Liz are great Christian folks that I have come to appreciate and admire. They have always treated me very well, and for that I am greatful.

Terry and Liz I wish you the best and hope to see you down the road but if not I will see you in heaven one day. Take care and God Bless.

Hopefully Nss will find someone as nice as Terry to fill the role. Whether it was testing or a race he would always stop by and shake my hand. He treated me the same as those guys with the big haulers (Don take note) and I have a lot of respect for someone like that.

            Good luck Terry and Liz.
