Grooves
If you compaired the dirt tire to these tires (750) there are completely different. The dirt tires are also grooved from outsidr to inside, angled all sorts of directions. That is to promote bite on the dirt and to self clean the dirt out of them. Also the dirt tire oferall looks like a Drag tire.

so here's a dumb question why would anybody take a tire off that's still good for a super stock or any other class to run ? because they have too much money or are they just being nice ? so what do they sell a used wore out tire for 10/15 bucks a pcs.Originally posted by scottgarrity07 View PostOne of the reasons NSS wanted to go to this tire was for the option for it to be a legitimate "take-off" tire from the OWM and Sportsman down to the Super Stock guys due to the longevity of it. I would suggest finding a well-funded OWM team and buy their one or two race take-off's!

Some OWM guys will change tires after one race no matter what (some even posted it on here). Whether the advantage is real or perceived, if you have a front running OWM you are going to spend the money. I wouldn't call OWM a low buck class, so yes I believe they will have plenty of take offs that would have plenty of life for a Super Stock.

ok here is another thing in the years past NSS they have had average of 5 big motor mods on a weekly show and 10/15 super stocks so ther wont be that many take offs at NSS. one ideal is that if this car ratio keeps up maybe the super stock guys can sell there take offs to the big motor mod guys what do you think ?

I think that if you can find negativity in switching from the Hoosier 650/450's (that I found to last 1 to 2 nights at best on a Sportsman) to the Hoosier R750 (which have shown themselves to last AT LEAST 100 laps and I'm thinking will actually last 4 full race nights) then there's nothing I can present that will convince you it's a very positive change for everyone who has to race on them.Originally posted by shorttrackcar1 View Postok here is another thing in the years past NSS they have had average of 5 big motor mods on a weekly show and 10/15 super stocks so ther wont be that many take offs at NSS. one ideal is that if this car ratio keeps up maybe the super stock guys can sell there take offs to the big motor mod guys what do you think ?

Scott wasn't being negative just making conversation. old school that's how many they have averaged in the past for a weekly show and I am being nice cause usually two cars would break away and it became time to go the bathroom and grab a hotdog and coke on the way back and hope it was over with when you returned to your seat . maybe this year will be better since they dumped the e-mods I am sure everybody ran out and had new motors built LOL. no most of them are up for sale or just parked .I think we will have a average 6/7 this year for a weekly show .Last edited by shorttrackcar1; 03-02-2015, 02:00 PM.

Scott that's why everybody went to E-mod and that's why it was started because the big motor class was dead. other tracks have good car counts I don't think NSS will ever see big car counts in that class for a regular show I personal think they dump the wrong mod class so we will see how many they have this year .

As a spectator, i'll take a 5 car real OWS show over a 20 car e-mod show anytime. Sorry, the e-mods are just a very pale version of " them big motor mods " and i'd much rather watch and listen to the real thing. The OWMs over hear are a very strong class, at NSS they seem to be dropping. But that might be more because of NSS than the class itself.

$300 to win for an e-mod,$400 to win for an OWM,,,You win more than that in a vintage Monte on DOT tires at VSP...Originally posted by Matt Albee View PostThe OWMs over hear are a very strong class, at NSS they seem to be dropping. But that might be more because of NSS than the class itself.

matt its a good thing most people don't agree with you that's why there is nobody in the stands . I would rather watch 20 cars of any class then watch 5 car are you kidding.Originally posted by Matt Albee View PostAs a spectator, i'll take a 5 car real OWS show over a 20 car e-mod show anytime.
