I wish the SLM would go back to the run what ya brung home made bodies like Junior Hanley's car in 81. It was great to see the innovations those guys came up with. The big shovel noses and the wedge bodies and big spoilers.

The rules should be 1 750 carb, 362 CU in or less, roof height, and track width. The short track racing world is so watered down now. there are 5 or 6 classes that all look alike. It costs about $3000 to put on an ABC body. You could fabricate a body like that for less than $1000. Even the "outlaw" LM in the midwest have strict body rules.

    Just Venting.........

I couldn't agree more! Been quacking about that for awhile now. ABC bodies are kind-of were it's at right now, but man-oh-man, a little opening up of the body rules sure would bring about a little more creativity and uniqueness to an otherwise somewhat bland and over-exposed body style.
I know there is a promoter out there somewhere that would relax the body styles somewhat, and lift the strong template regulations that are currently in place.
Those sure were some great times, the early 80's.
