These are true "vintage" cars, not dwarf cars, not replicars, but the racecars we grew up with--and I think they are legitmately racing, not out there for a "show", correct?

Wednesday is a "Practice" day only with the racing on Thurs.-Fri... Looks like we might have to dodge some rain on Thurs. but the forecast I've heard is for it to be early in advance of a cold front...
Will be fun working with this group again... looking forward to it...

Saw some of these cars (I think) at NSS last Friday.

                >How many classes are there? In other words, are six cylinders running with flatheads? With small block chevys? Are "sportsman" cars running with "modifieds"?

                >On the track, how hard do they race? In other words, is it similar to modern stuff where they are all running hard, or are there 3-4 cars running hard and the rest are just exercising their vintage show cars?

                Thank you.

Oldschool..........got watch them practice yesterday.looked to be midget..sprint....modified and some LM class. I am not sure what ur expectations are but I can't really see most going "full bore" in this. Chances of wadding their vintage stuff...getting hurt themselves...and any other unknown factor would not be too good in my book. My hats off to all of these guys and gals for keeping the memories alive and being able to appreciate a piece of "by gone" history of our sport.
Its is clearing but cool (not cold) over here in citrus county. If u want a race fix on a Thursday...........$10.00 is well worth it. Alcohol burning midgets brought back great memories. Wish I could attend the next coupledays but work says otherwise. At least I got my short fix yesterday and supported my local track.

                    Thank you for the report!

It is a shame that it is on the same weekend as the Auburndale late model event.

                    Decisions, decisions...

FOR ANY OF YOU that are interested in the future the DAARA races HARD!!! They are not out there just to parade old race cars around slowly.I went to Auburndale 4 years ago on two seperate occasions and they destroyed a couple beautiful cars those nights.I also saw them race at Orlando Speedworld 5 years ago as part of the charity truck race weekend.Same deal. They slammed and banged and blew up motors that other guys got caught up in their oil resulting in heavily damaged race cars.Do yourselves a favor and catch one of their shows in the future. They always bring a great field of cars (more than i can say about most divisions at most tracks in the state of Florida)and you will enjoy the show.
