    Happy New Year everyone!
well that is something else there. I hope you don't get the plaue also.
I will be working in teq for a few races trying to teach someone younger than me .
don't get the promoter and racer difference in me. I have been both and that might be why a lot of you don't see eye to eye with I post on here.
I try to give you the other side and a lot of you don't want to hear it.
I haven't been a promoter of any race for over 6 years and love to do what I do on here.
A promoter could never post how he realey feels on here.

I have this little game I like to play. Everywhere Don misspells a word I insert a bleep like when they bleep out a bad word on the radio. Then you get into insert various bad words of your own.
It's fun, I'll help you the first time. This one only has three, so it's not as fun as some others.

      Here we go:

"I try to give you the other side and a lot of you don't want to hear it." --Don N.

For the record, I always look forward to your posts, Don. May not always agree, but always find them insightful and certainly entertaining.

"A promoter could never post how he really feels on here."
        --MoDon

Then it is really kind of neither here nor there...ain't it?

Just joking about "the plague" thing, Don. I wish you nothing but good health and prosperity in the New Year. And "Good Luck" with your new job mentoring the tech people. From what I'm hearing, the place you are headed could use some experienced help in restoring the reputation of their Tech Team. Git R Done.

I like Lurkin's game; a little fun with Don.

I hope you don't get chlamydia also.

I'll be working in a whore house trying to teach someone younger than me.

A promoter could never post how he sneaks a feel on here.

That's probably funny if you're a million. But that's not how you play the game.

See, once again we are in agreement.

Many, if not most, short track cars are run in second gear, I believe.

                      Meanwhile, back at da Ranch...

It appears that no official word has come down from the tracks regarding tires for the Sportsman class for 2015.

Probably it will all be good, most guys buy at least one tire when they go to the track, and I will bet there will be a "grace period" when you can run your old (now hard) stuff.

Still, any "official" updates I am sure will be appreciated by the guys that will be buying them.

Quietly, it is stated deep in the rulebook of the Joey Coulter Truck Series that the mandated tire for 2015 will be the "New Hoosier R750 tire". Expect the domino's to fall everywhere else soon...

                          BACK OT THE TIRES
I was on a radio show years ago. The show was before the board form.
The show was about race tires and with one was the best. he other gest on the show was a well known super late driver. He did most of the testing for both tire co for years.
When they asked him what tire was the best for him he replied
                          NEW TIRES or FREE TIRES.
I wish they could please everyone but that wont happen. Do beleave that they will try to do what is best for the racer.
The difference in sales is not that great for them to want a tire that wont last. Also a tire that is to hard to race on wont work either. You will lose cars that got crashed and cant rebuild.
Other teams wont try to run on a tire that you cant race on. The tire mfg will try to get in the middle. This took Goodyear 5 years to build. The ribed tire they built was tested many years before they got it right.
They moved the plant to canida and the repeatablety was gone and the sidewall went away.
Hoosher has been working on this tire for 6 years and I think they got it now. We will see.

                            Dave McInnis

Dave McInnis used to pull his late model up against one of the sawed off telphone poles they used for a backstretch "wall" at Orlando Speedway and then light the rear tires while his crew guys pushed the rear of the car back and forth. This was not for a second or five, but rather, a huge plume of smoke would rise into the air.

Aside from the considerable equity he bought by intimidating everyone in the joint, what do we speculate his purpose was?

I understand that it seriously warmed up and softened the tires, but do we think they were "old" tires he was re-using?

Seems like that would wear the "good" off the new ones.

A different time and place for sure, but in my world that's a bad move on a few different levels. First, you want equal heat in all four tires. Hot rears and cold fronts would make you push at the green. On new tires, depending on the compound, you could definitely kill the good out of the tire. If it's a sticker tire you are going to "shock" the tire. Tire companies recommend scuffing in a tire generally by running a few easy laps, a few hard laps and then a few more easy laps. If it's an old tire all you would be doing is ensuring the tire goes away that much quicker. The older and more used up a tire is, the quicker it will go away. Maybe back in the day they were on a rock hard street tire and this worked to get heat in the rears, but I'm thinking he was using a drag racers burnout mentality on this gimmick.

You didn't hear it from me, but the word is that the major short tracks in Florida are tired of the whining from a handful of racers, many of whom don't show up to the track most of the time anyway, and are going to open the tire rules completely and let the racers run whatever brand they want, whatever the compound they want. Also, you can run slicks or the famous airplane tire.
But about the assertion that Dave McIinnis didn't know what he was doing?????? Wanna compare wins?
