NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES FULL 2015 SCHEDULE

Short track racing fans in Central Florida have a lot to be excited about
heading into the 2015 racing season at New Smyrna Speedway. On Wednesday,
track officials released the full schedule for the upcoming racing season,
which features prestigious events such as the World Series of Asphalt Stock
Car Racing, the 50th Annual Florida Governor’s Cup, Pete Orr Memorial,
Red-Eye 100, Marion Edwards Memorial and Clyde Hart Memorial.

In addition to the schedule release, the track announced that Super Late
Models replace the Pro Late Models as the track's NASCAR Whelen All-American
Series Division I. Including the seven races during the World Series of
Asphalt Stock Car Racing, the SLM division will run 18 events at the track
    during the 2015 season.

The 2015 schedule will kick off with the 29th annual Red-Eye 100 on January
3rd for Super Late Models. The Red-Eye will be a joint race with the Pro Late
Models, which will run the Zack Donatti Memorial 50. Super Stocks and
Strictly Stocks will also be on the card.

The track will host it's 2014 Awards Banquet on Saturday evening, January
17th. This year's event will take place at the Spruce Creek Fly-In Country
    Club near New Smyrna Beach.

The 2015 season will continue on January 24th with the 13th Annual Pete Orr
Memorial 100 for Super Late Models. This event will also feature a Modified
75-lap event, which is a makeup from 2014, as well as Mini Stocks, Sportsman
    and Strictly Stocks.

In February, the 49th annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car racing will
kick off with a full day of practice and parking on Thursday, February 12th.
Racing will start on the 13th as the Super Late Models will run seven nights
highlighted by a 50-lap race on February 19th and a 100-lap race on Saturday,
February 21st, the final night of this year’s World Series.

Pro Late Models will run seven nights with a 50-lap race on February 19th.

Tour Type Modifieds will run six nights highlighted by the John Blewett III
Memorial 76 on February 18th and the 30th annual Richie Evans Memorial 100 on
    February 20th.

IMCA Modifieds will host six races during the World Series with the big show
coming on February 18th as they will go 75 laps.

The first race that was locked in for the 2015 season was the NASCAR K&N Pro
Series East event that will take place on Sunday, February 15th. Last year,
track owner Robert Hart inked the deal with NASCAR just hours after the
successful race won by Daniel Suarez. The 2015 race for the K&N Series will
    kick off their 2015 season.

The American Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models will return for two nights of
racing on February 16th and 17th. TBARA Winged Sprints will run on February
    15th and 16th.

After a busy Speedweeks, the track will return to action on March 14th with
its NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly program featuring Pro Late
Models, Sportsman, Modifieds, Mini Stocks, Super Stocks and Bombers.

Super Late Models will be back in action on March 28th for the first time
since the World Series, while the Pro Late Models will take a break for the
week. This will become a trend during the upcoming season, as the SLM’s and
PLM’s will not share race dates after the World Series in February.

The Clyde Hart Memorial, a 100-lap Super Late Model race, will take place on
July 3rd and provide fans plenty of fireworks leading up to Independence Day.

Another fan favorite, the Marion Edwards Memorial 100, will be held on
    September 26th.

Nearly a month later on October 24th, the Super Late Models will have their
final tune-up for the 50th Annual Florida Governor’s Cup 200. The track
will also crown their 2015 track champions on this date.

The 50th Annual Florida Governor’s Cup 200 will take place November 13-15.
There will be an optional practice day on Friday, November 13th and a 100-lap
Modified race on Saturday, November 14th before the final event of the 2015
season at New Smyrna Speedway, the Florida Governor’s Cup 200 on Sunday,
November 15. This will mark the 50th anniversary of this prestigious event
that began in 1965 and the now-shuttered Golden Gate Speedway in Tampa. This
will be a huge event this year so make your plans early to be in attendance.

OK you big motor mod guys you wanted more racing you got it at NSS .you don't have to worry about the E-mods no more excuses. DD38 get the wax out and dust off the mod and any of you other guys you have a full season at NSS no excuses . I am going to go ahead now and say it I bet they don't average on a weekly show 5 big motor mod cars . The E-mods showed up with 18 cars at osw I bet they have about 20 this week . and I hope osw keeps running them next year.

The 75 lap Modified race is not the make-up race for the 100 lap $5000 to win race during the Governor's Cup weekend is it? If so why is it 75 lap now? If is not the make-up race for that one, is it still going to be run or cancelled until next year Governors Cup weekend now?

I really don't think there were 18 E-Mods at OSW last week... I counted 11 in the pits just before the races were called but there could have been more outside as several teams opted not to come in... There was a really good count of Super Stocks too... the better weather should bring out a few more this week... Wish I could be there... You have to put up with Lee Wagner as announcer!

I know there were a lot of unopened trailers around, just did not know what was in them LOL... I was headed home by 9 pm so that must have been Lee messing around in the booth...
