IT'S TRY, TRY AGAIN TIME FRIDAY NIGHT AT ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD

Orlando SpeedWorld will try to race again this Friday night, December 12th,
after a persistent late evening drizzle wiped out all attempts to run last
week's card of racing action. The event is once again being sponsored by
Clean Cut Tree Service of Melbourne along with associate sponsors Jack's
Wrecker Service of Melbourne, Brevard Rentals,Southeast Waterproofing and Old
School Racing of Orlando. Weather this week is expected to be dry and clear
although a bit on the chilly side.
The track will again try and run a $1,000 to win Economy Modified (E-Mod) race
sponsored by Space Coast Welding and Fabrication of Melbourne with associate
sponsorship from Packer Enterprises. Also on tap will be racing for the Super
Stocks, 6/8 Cylinder Strictly Stocks and 4 Cylinder Strictly Stocks. Antique
race cars are also scheduled to return. The Mini Cup racers scheduled to run
last week have postponed their events until the next scheduled race program at
SpeedWorld which is on January 9th.
The E-Modified race will be for 50 laps around the high-banked three-eighths
mile oval. Second place will pay a nice $600 and the purse will pay back
through the entire starting grid. A large group of cars were in the pits last
week waiting out the rain including Roger Benton, Matt Jarrett, John Hodge,
Junior Beckner, Shain Held, Bruce Packer, Matt Wheeler, Mike Soukup and
    several more.
The Super Stocks were well represented last week in the damp pit area and all
of those drivers and more are expected back for a crack at the $300 top prize.
Drivers waiting out the rain last week included Doug Samion, Ernie Tuminello,
Preston Hunt, Ron Whaley (driving for Jeff Colburn), Jeff Cuddy, Dale
    Sorenson, Ted Head and others.
Both Strictly Stock classes will be racing for $200 to win. A large group of
drivers were there last week making several attempts to dry out the track
including Zachary Curtis, Shane Sutorus, William Hindman, Richard Fiore, Jr.,
Charles King, Sr. and Jr., Jeff Gross, Warren Howie, Tommy Flinn, "Crash"
Tyner, Neil Kirby, Paul Cornelius, James Skinner, Jeff Gross, Jamie "McCrazy"
Sullivan, Eric Hodge, Aaron Overman, Donnie Bain, Troy and Kendra Gregory
along with many more as the pits were jam-packed for the first time in well
    over a year.
Pit gates will open once again early at 2 pm with practice getting under way
at 3 pm. Again, track officials are making this an "open" practice session
with all types and classes of race cars welcome to get in some hot laps to
check out their race car and/or
get some seat time. All pit arm bands will be honored from last week's rain
    out.
Grandstand gates will open at 7 pm with racing getting under way at 8 pm.
Adult general admission is just $12 and all kids 11 and under get in free of
charge. Again, all rain checks from last week will be honored.
Come on out for a great night of racing as the biggest field of cars in over
    two years is expected.
