I was told that Accel just went through a buyout, and new owners pulled the plug on the racing program. .... including Will Kimmel. Their sponsorship of the 12 had the condition that the car be painted black, so it was painted. It was after the paint job that the team found out that no sponsor check was coming. Thus, the color & driver change happened quickly and recently.

Definitely a solid source. I wonder what happened to the Circle Track project car? I believe it was fielded out of the same shop as Kimmel and Lira's ARCA rides. See ya after the Sportsman race!
