Ozzy and Donnie are working with NASCAR to bring it to Orlando Speedworld, but you didn't hear it from me.

The NASCAR folks are evaluating track aprons and parking lots as we speak. Hopefully, they'll use a real race track this year.

They have a perfectly good track just down the road at SR415 and 44. And it is NASCAR sanctioned too and right in the back yard of the big track. It should be a NO BRAINER!

Your facility is excellent but surely you do not think the France family would share any revenue with you even though you share with them by virtue of your membership. For the life of me I don't understand why anyone would share anything with this clan with their current attitude towards the fan and the sport.

It's going to be tough for any real race track to get the " Apron '. From what i've been reading on the net the last couple of days, your normal short track doesn't have enough " injectors " for naming rights to get NASCAR interested. They've decided to sell naming rights to each " injector " at DIS, and they're putting in a lot of them.

If the stands are still up on the backstretch of the speedway in February I can guarantee that's where it will be. I have not been by there in a few months so I don't know they are or aren't. If they are still up I am not sure when they plan to take them down, if they did I would think they would have to have it at NSS or cancel it completely. I believe they are going to make an announcement in the next couple of weeks.

Why wouldnt you have it on the backstretch at Daytona ? For all you guys crying the backstretch isnt a real race track, come on define real race track to me.Race tracks come in all shapes ,sizes and configurations. They all have different degrees of banking.I have been to countless tracks in this country that have no similarity to the track I was at the week or night before.A "real "track does not have to be the same size, shape or anything else as New Smyrna. You guys dont watch races from Watkins Glen,Martinsville,Pocono,Pheonix or countless others than right? They arent shaped like New Smyrna either.Hell Eldora isnt even blacktop so god knows that isnt a real race track just for that fact. There are countless tracks that are flat, devoid of much of any banking in this land.Does that mean you all wouldnt ever visit Bowman Grey or other such tracks?Grow up ,get over it a guy has to be able to win on ANY configuration, size or surface to show he is the real deal so just leave it alone.

I wouldn't count on people " leaving it alone ". The concept of NASCAR running a race on the track apron and using stacks of tires to define the racing surface is just too funny to ignore.
Especially when you factor in that NSS and OSW ( two newly minted NASCAR shortracks ) are just down the road.
No, i think the " Apron " just cries out to be made fun of.

Look at it for what it really is... a way to suck more dollars out of the thousands of fans already on the property. They have NO interest in moving this to NSS or ANY other Nascar affiliated track.
It's a smart move on their part. A move more tracks would be smart to do.... create income with outside the box thinking.
I've been to both, and their is no shortage of fans there. It doesn't look that way because of the huge stands, but there's a ton of people that showed up for them.
You could put 2000 people into OSS and look packed. You can put 10000 in Daytona and look empty. It's all relative.
Bottom line..... I enjoyed the hell out of both shows, and will be sorry when this event has run its course.

If NSS matched the $20,000 to win I am sure the racers would stick around to run that race too...
