    Bronson Speedway UPDATE!!!!!!
Posted by LeRoy Davidson · about an hour ago
Regarding the Hangover Enduro at Bronson Speedway on New Year's Day, after seeing a video on facebook at Star Speedway in New Hampshire, where 220 cars started an enduro, and the excitement I saw in the grandstands, I can't let this go without trying. I'm glad track owner Ann Young lives in New York, so maybe she won't hear about this... .I really want to see this event succeed, so here goes my next attempt: As of now I have never heard of more than the 224 cars I had in my first enduro, but it means a lot for me to get just one more car than that, so I'm willing to take the steps to do it. We have 65 days before the race, so the count-down starts now for me. NEW GAME, NEW PAY! If we get 200 cars, I'll pay $10,000 TO WIN! And better yet, if we get just that one car over my 224 car count, I will add ANOTHER $5,000 for a total of $15,000 to the winner!! You have my PERSONAL GUARANTEE of this payout, and the race will be run on New Year's Day rain or shine! Rules and Entry Forms are posted on the Bronson Speedway facebook page under "Notes". Copies are also available at the track, and we can email or fax them to you, or if need be I may even bring it to you myself! We are working on a Bronson Speedway Website and hope to have it up and running soon, which will help, but right now all of you who read this post are my biggest asset to spread the word around, so LET'S GET GOING!! 65 Days and counting, that's only 2 1/4 entries per day. And to be honest, this may not be the end of it, I may have to do more, and those who know me best KNOW that I am very capable of doing whatever I think is necessary. So stay tuned, as it will only get more intense as the days go by.Let's make this even more exciting, we will NOT start the cars by the order you enter, we will start by drawing pills on race day, which means EVERYONE will have the same opportunity to start in the front! So one more time, here is my GUARANTEED PAYOUT for the New Year's Hangover Enduro: PAY OUTS
    1. For 100 cars - $5,000 to win, $1,000 for 2nd, and $500 for 3rd-10th positions. 2. For 200 cars - $10,000 to win, $2,000 for 2nd, and $1,000 for 3rd-10th positions. OR
    3. For 225 cars - $15,000 to win, $3,000 for 2nd, and $1,500 for 3rd-10th!

REMEMBER ALSO, this is the first of 3 HOLIDAY SERIES Enduro's (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day), and everyone who participates in all three races in 2015 will be entered in a drawing after the Labor Day race with 3 of you winning an extra $1,000 each. A CHAMPION WILL BE CROWNED.................... See you at Bronson Speedway!!!!!!!!!!!!! LeRoy

Welcome to KARNAC, Ann. Most of us who post here, while sometimes critical, are always respectful. There are a few here who are "trolls" and like to throw bombs, but if you ignore them they go away. However, for every one of us that does post here there are at least 10 more fans/racers that don't post and come here purely for information/entertainment. KARNAC is a one stop free soundboard to get the word out to FL racers and race fans. I'm glad you decided to post here. It can be a boon for your racetrack.

Here's a friendly suggestion: We all saw here the Facebook post where Leroy spoke about rules for your classes and how the alignment with Citrus fell apart. Lake City is having an event on 11/8-9 that is being run by the folks who own it at New Smyrna Speedway. They have stated that they are to make an announcement that weekend about the events to be held there in 2015. Sounds like to me that there will be some kind of limited schedule there next year. Why not call Kim Brown and examine the possibility of forming some kind of alliance with them for Lake City? If your rules were the same you could share cars. If they were to, say, run one event a month, why not close that weekend and help both of your car counts? Why not work with them to create a new home for E Mods at your place and Lake City? That area is starved for asphalt cars so sharing with them makes sense. Going head-to-head with them will hurt you both. Heck, you might even attract some of the disenfranchised Citrus teams. Kim is a wonderful person that has racing's and racer's best interest at heart. What's a phone call hurt?

Either way, good luck and best wishes!

Great post Scott, however after this last race at NSS and Lake City, the e-mod class is no more. A long haul for the few of us that remain. My motor is being refreshed now and it won't be legal as an e-mod anymore... just sayin'... Sharing the race schedule between Lake City is a great idea..

BTW... yes, welcome Ann.. now unblock me from the Bronson F/B page... ...lol
RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

Thanks Jim. That's too bad. Was hoping maybe there could be a "saving grace" for you guys. Glad to see you're stepping up to the Open Mods and not parking it. But yes, Bronson and Lake City working together would be a win-win.

Some sort of alliance with Lake City could be a benefit to both tracks. I sure hope both tracks survive and grow. I would also recommend bringing Desoto Speedway into the group.

Not sure if an alliance with Desoto would draw any cars since it is 180 miles away from Bronson and that's a long, long haul. HOWEVER, last I had heard Bronson still did not have racing fuel available at the track for it's competitors. Maybe an "alliance" could be made between Renegade Racing Fuels and Bronson to sell racing fuel at the track? I know that has been keeping some cars away. You guys need to talk!

The alliance should be more for standardizing classes and rules than for racers going between tracks. And in truth, if those three tracks had a standard rules/classes package and were willing to work together, there could be a number of special events held that any or all of the racers could attend.

Great minds think alike! I was told by NSS tech officials that they are planning on revamping their 2015 rules to be in line with Desoto's current rules. Since NSS will be running Lake City it is likely that those rules will be used there too. Bronson would be wise to align with those rules instead of creating rules that are not in line with NSS/DS/LCS.

Ocalaclasp--way to go building a faster motor! I wish you success wherever you run. And where do you intend to race moving forward...?

Scott/Ann--Great thoughts re: adoption of common rules.

Scott--Does Showtime run the same rules also?

From what I know Showtime's rules are the same as everyone elses in regards to Supers and OWM. Similar, but a little different on the rules for the support classes. Yoho does his own thing and for a lot of classes he has some of the highest car counts in the state (crowds and purses too).
                    Can't find fault with that.

Bronson is a great track. A real DRIVERS track. It looks like things are headed in the right direction and that's real cool.

                      SG--thx!

Nonetheless, it makes even more sense to align with those rules.

                      That leaves Inverness and Auburndale.

Ummmm, complete FL rules alignment has been talked about quite a bit on here. The reality is the track owners in FL just don't seem to be able to work together to any major degree. The exception to this is NSS/DS alliance and DS working with Showtime on scheduling. Don't get me wrong, they all try not to step on each other to some degree, but there's not much give and take dialog going on. I wouldn't hold out much hope to see everyone on one rulebook. For a Sportsman it's not that different track to track. But it IS different.

Well oldschool, not planning on any points racing next year. Kind
of ties you down to one track and schedule. Hope to race some big races from Lake City to Desoto, since I live almost half way between them.
Headed to Bronson for a drivers meeting this afternoon to deliver a rules book from NSS for them to set the OWM rules for 2015..
Will be 66 years old in January and on a budget and few sponsors. Just trying to do what I like best and mix with a great bunch of people.. Fellow racers.
